This loosely organized weekly ride aims to create a routine time for some lighthearted training with friends. Everyone is encouraged to climb Tabor at least once, and spend the hour riding however feels best to them. We’ll plan to regroup at the starting point at 7:30 so that we may enjoy celebratory tots as a group somewhere near by. Whether you’re looking to crush your PR, enjoy the park with friends, or simply eat some tots, all are welcome. All bikes, skill levels, and body’s are celebrated here. We ride bikes in Southeast Portland. We start on foster at the Mercado. Next to the 1 year old burnt down barrio, construction to start in may on Mercado 2.0 pictured above, if you can support the food carts before we head out on the bike ride we meet up at 7:30 and We ride out at 8pm. We have guests ride leaders often. Please come prepared. Bring your lights maybe a spare tube patch kit tools to do such. Don't litter they are homeless not your can butler's. Be kind to all travelers, everybody's got places to go things to do, and everybody wants to make it home in the end.

What are we riding to?: District 2 Budget Listening Session Where is it?: PCC Cascade Moriarty Auditorium (5514-5518 N Albina Ave, Portland, OR 97217) Where do we start?: Bike ride from St Johns! (Cathedral Coffee, 7530 N Willamette Blvd, Portland, OR 97203) When?: Meet at ~5:10 at Cathedral Coffee. We roll out ~5:30. How Long?: Ride is 20-30 min each way, and 2.5hrs for the listening session, so we'd get back around 9pm. The route to PCC Cascade is ~4.5 miles each way, mostly on N Willamette. Casual pace. Cathedral Coffee closes at 5pm, but feel free to show up early and enjoy a coffee or pastry. They have ample bike parking. Signs in support of funding the St Johns Community Center are welcome, but not required. Then join our first New to Portland ride of 2025 on Thursday, April 3! We will visit several community-focused spaces, from community orchards to local bike shops and tree-filled parks. Event details: We will gather next door to NW Pro Gear bike shop, in the courtyard on SE Foster Rd between 91st and 92nd Ave. 5:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Come at 5:30 for free safety checks courtesy of NW Pro Gear! 6:00 p.m. Ride begins! 6:45 p.m. Short stop at Malden Court Community Orchard to learn about this special community space and how you can get involved. This is a moderate-pace, no drop ride, and will be approximately 7 miles. This event is free and open to everyone.

Find your bike Every Friday Night. We meet at Ladds circle, in the circle. If it is raining, head down to the covered area of Abernethy Elementary School. Ride slowly meets at 7 pm and departs roughly at 7:45/8ish pm. An honorary 3 minutes of Ladd laps (Ding Ding Ride/Ladd500) and then we send it. Sometimes we have guest ride leaders. Friday Night Rides are different every time. Sometimes we go to other rides happening around town during the summer. End of ride fires/good vibes/respect/no jerks/ We are a community. Respect each other! No aggressive, sexist, racist, or any other kind of BS will be tolerated. Violations against the code of conduct will be reported to shift2bikes. If you ride Sur-Ron/powerful electric bikes this is not the ride for you. You can come but you might be heckled. This is a bicycle ride. Bring lights/locks/responsible vibes/a cup/ Casual pace with some extra zip 10-20ish mile rides with store stops/park stops/art stops NOT NECESSARILY A NO DROP RIDE… ESPECIALLY IN THE FALL/WINTER/SPRING. This year OR Bike is pausing the Worst Day of the Year Ride with plans to resume in 2026. To pay homage to the annual ride and tradition of a fun costumed bike ride regardless of weather Bananas Martinez is hosting the Ugliest Ride of the Year on Saturday, April 5th. Bring your friends, come in your best costume, and join a fun group ride. The ride will end at Hawthorne Asylum for food and drinks. Bring your lock, rain jacket, and layers in preparation for cold weather. Please note this ride is not a replacement for Worst Day of the Year Ride and we look forward to participating in the OR Bike ride in 2026.

The 60s neighborhood greenway connecting Mt. Tabor Park to the Springwater Corridor was completed a few weeks ago. This group ride will follow the full 4 mile length of the greenway proceeding South from Mt. Tabor Park. At the south end of the greenway we will loop back north mainly following the 70s Greenway, which was installed a couple years ago. The ride is a near loop of 9 miles total length ending at the Hinterland Food Carts. This is a fairly recent food cart pod, just a block south of the SE Lincoln Greenway, and it has good bike parking in front. This being a greenway ride, all the streets will be calm with the busier crossings either having stop lights or signed and zebra-striped crosswalks. A feature of both the 60s and 70s greenways is that they are almost entirely flat, so any bike will do for the ride. Hope to see you there!

Different ride leaders each week, but you can expect the ride to be social paced (8ish mph), no-drop, safe and welcoming, store stop with safe clean bathroom access and the ride is always a loop. We practice consent and non-violence specially with car interactions, what one ride does affects how all rides get treated. The Mellow Mondays are a space for (new) ride leaders to try out ideas in a very supported environment. You’ll often see Mondays rides appearing again during the warmer riding season. We follow the shift code of conduct and expect everyone to be respectful of themselves and others around them. This is so we can actually relax and have fun and connect with each other in a softer space. This isn’t a sober ride but we ask for moderation to keep the atmosphere relaxed. We recommend Abraham Fixes bikes in N Williams and NomadCycles (e-bike specialist) for repairs/sales and parts. Our friends over at RideSafePDX host regular ride and we’ recommend those as a pleasant warm group to ride with.
