RIDE TO DOWNTOWN VANCOUVER'S FIRST FRIDAY ART WALK Link
Peninsula Park rose garden, at Alberta and Albina, N Ainsworth St and Albina Ave Take Trimet
6:00pm - 9:00pm
This is Vancouver's art walk event! It's in downtown Vancouver, close to the river and a relatively short trip from Portland. If you're taking the Max, email me and we can pick you up on the way near the Delta Park / PIR station.
I'm not specifically planning a tour of the galleries, it's a small area. We can wander through together, or you can break off on your own self-guided tour. There is also a great wine bar and a little speakeasy of a taproom in the back of the bottle shop.
I'm planning to lead a return group back to Portland at about 9:00.

RIDE OF SILENCE: PORTLAND, OR, USA Link
Holladay Park, NE 11th Ave & Holladay Park Path Take Trimet
6:00pm - 7:00pm
Cyclists all over the world will take to the roads in a silent procession to honor bicyclists who have been killed or injured while cycling on public roadways. Although cyclists have a legal right to share the road with motorists, the motoring public often isn't aware of these rights, and sometimes not aware of the cyclists themselves. The purpose of the ride is:

To HONOR those who have been injured or killed
To RAISE AWARENESS that bicycles are on our roads
To ask that we all SHARE THE ROADS

We will ride a short loop through downtown Portland, going slowly and silently. All are welcome.

always wanted to lead a ride and were unsure how to do it, or if you could do it?  i'm here to tell you as a veteran ride leader that YOU CAN DO IT!  i'll be giving tips on ride design, promotion, and mechanics--no, not changing a flat, but how to make your ride go smoothly, be fun, inclusive, safe, and successful.  yeah, this isn't a ride, it's just me and Organic Brian talking.  but we'll try to be funny and brief and interactive and you should bring some food or beverages if you wanna eat or drink, since, hey, it won't bother us =)
