ALL DAY
12:00 AM
3rd Annual attempt to eat as many tacos in the Portland area as possible in a day! Self organize to decide where to roll and what spots to hit... It lasts ALL DAY Tuesday August 26th. NO SPECIFIC MEET-UP, ROUTE or END LOCATION. The ride is up to you! We love tacos. Portland has HUNDREDS of taco shops. That makes THOUSANDS of tacos available in locations liberally distributed throughout all 6 quadrants of our city EVERY. SINGLE. DAY! Roll up and celebrate glorious tacos and appreciate taco makers. Reign of Taco Ride encourages supporting local and family owned businesses and hopes you'll take this opportunity to try unfamiliar/new and non-franchised spots. Log the progress of your delicious adventure! https://tacoapp.verynice.party/ → offers the ability to track your progress, and adds a competitive edge for taco teams: Points are awarded for each spot, bonus for being the 1st party there and/or for eating all the tacos on the menu. Steps: 1. Log in to register your self/team 2. Use interactive map as a guide to find spots 3. Ride yer bike* 4. Log places you visit (marked by a team-colored flag) Include: -bike-ability and taco ratings, - descriptions, -photos! *or other self-propelled instrument of transportation, cause we’re tryna work up an appetite here! The application will be updated (Spots reviewed, and 2024 reviews/flags archived or removed) prior to the 2025 event... Organized chaos is the only way to eat this incredible array of fantastic food. We need whole squadrons of self-propelled taco lovers to realize this collective a'chomp'lishment! All the links can be found at: https://linktr.ee/reign_of_taco_ride We wish you many tasty moments and maximum taco satisfaction and hope you saved your Pedalpalooza Appetites! The Reign of Taco Ride is the brain child of Joshua Force. Before departing on a leg of a lifetime bike tour (current location Chile!), and in response to local, non-ethnic food events (Pizza Week etc.) he wondered: how could you A’chomp’lish all the tacos in PDX in a day?!? The uncanny idea flabbergasted Karl Freitag but we thought to loop in Adam Novotny to help us with this puzzling concept! He became our web-wizard: assembling a comprehensive list of locations and developing our, tried-and-tested, online team-oriented interactive map app! Karl launched a Discord server for communication between taco riders and to send us feedback. In our first year we collectively visited about half of the spots in the metropolitan area. Thanks to all the ‘23 and ‘24 riders!

Meet at 6pm, roll at 6:30pm
End location: Sewallcrest Park
Do you love CAKE (the band)? Do you love cake (the food)? Then you will love this ride madly. Roll along in your short skirt and long jacket while listening to the sweet, sweet tunes of Sacramento’s best export. We will go the distance, listening to CAKE’s entire studio album catalog, front to back. There will be a vibraslap! We will give away a tree! Ditch the stickshifts and safety belts, the long line of cars, and the unbearable carbon monoxide as you embrace your rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle and keep your wheels spinning round. There will also be a cake break! Bring a cake (or cupcakes) to share at the park stop or at the ride finish to prolong the magic. We will have plates and forks but BYO to reduce waste. Also BYO trumpet. We’ll roll at a casual pace with re-groups so everyone can stick together for a ~14-mile ride. Park stop halfway through at Lincoln City Park (SE 135th and Mill). There’s one hill of size and a few short gravel bits. Come at 6pm if you want to tune in to 1994’s Motorcade of Generosity. Bring lights for your bike since it will get dark about halfway through. We will have two trailers, one towing a giant sound system and the other towing a giant papier-mâché cake which will hold actual cake inside it and display CAKE album visuals. Please reach out if you can help with corking. Route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/51593205

FKA Twosday Road Rascals but a slightly different approach. Taking back 2sDay is here and we’re closing out Bike Summer with a ride every week! We continue the tradition that started at the picnic tables at Irving park years ago. The torch has been passed and we’re back! We’ll be focusing different end spots plus we’ll have new ride leads popping up thru summer so if you want to lead just ask! Tallbike paced with regroups and a real no drop mentality. Meets at the picnic tables by the tennis courts or under the covered area if it rains. Meet around 7 for a 7:45 roll out! If you’re banned from other rides don’t come on this one. Pretty simple. Don’t be rude to others on the ride and traffic or pedestrians, respect people’s space consent and possessions. We strive to make this a safe place for all and welcoming to everyone 🖤🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️✊🏽

Bridge City Skate is a local skate group that hosts weekly community rollouts around Portland. While the event is led by skaters, all wheels are welcome as long as everyone follows our basic community guidelines: be respectful, inclusive, and kind. No discrimination of any sort. Do you dream of being both fashion-forward and dangerously off-key? Do you crave the thrill of skating under the stars in a top that’s 30% fabric, 70% attitude? Then step right up, because Bridge City Skate is serving vocals and vibes at our most unhinged theme skate yet. Bring your most chaotic crop-top creation—shredded, bedazzled, duct-taped—whatever screams hot mess express. Whether you're belting ballads, screaming punk, or just skating by while someone else sings Nickelback with full sincerity, this night is for you. Crop tops encouraged. Singing optional. Screaming inevitable. - Meet-Up: Tuesday August 26th at 7:00 PM - Location: South Meade St. & South Bond Ave. - Roll Out: 7:30 PM sharp — as sharp as your midriff tan line. The route includes the Tilikum Crossing and the docks on the east side. Both areas have handrails to help go down, but the ability to navigate hills is highly recommended. If you have no city skate experience we recommend you start with BCS's Sunday Flatground Skate instead.

NakedHearts:PDX (Moorland leads)
Tue, Aug 26, 2025, 7:00 PM
Leave at 7:30pm
This band has been my personal go to band during the happiest times and darkest times of my life. Their absurdity and pathos and deep, deep musical humor has shaped me as a person. Some people know this band for their Rock n Roll, their kids music, their TV themes, their Polka, their featuring in a mass of movies…..if you’re not familiar you can expect a journey of fun and understanding of that human condition. This is an exceptionally family and sensitive person friendly ride….in their decades of music and 20 or so albums there isn’t a single curse word or female derogatory term. At this point NakedHearts has lead around 350-400+ rides and been involved in supporting at least 100 others, that’s to say you’d think we’d be ok with being vulnerable but this band who I love hardly ever shows up on any playlist because it’s too personal, too close to my own heart and I’ve been too shy. But given the realization of how small I’ve made myself due to ongoing harassment I’ve decided to rip the band aid off. Haters are gonna hate. We practice consent and non-violence on all our rides. If you’re banned on other rides or from listing a ride you’re banned here too. If you can’t respect others body autonomy please don’t attend.

At this point it’s pretty much official that the wonderful Benno Boy has ridden his last ride. Last Saturday the 28th of June Benno Boy hit the Godzilla,King Kong and Gigantor of Potholes at SE 39th and Stark on the way to @biteonbelmont. After 22755 Miles and 8 wonderful years of Riding all over Portland Oregon, nearly 1000+ Group Bike Rides and probably around 300-400 Ride Leads during Pedalpalooza and Afterpalooza plus probably 2000 rides to Portlands Food Carts his frame gave up the ghost. I’m very sad to say Goodbye to my trusty steed as he had become a huge part of who I am. There will be a memorial ride to say goodbye and to welcome his successor on Wednesday August 13th (Mini Version) and Saturday August 23rd (Full Version) Thank you to all the incredible bike mechanics for keeping him running since he was purchased from The eBike Store May 4th 2017 you are heroes of the highest order. FYI - many of Benno Boys parts will live on in his successor. Thank you #bennoboy you will be missed. Benno Boys official last Bike Summer Ride Lead was the #BonbRelay on Friday June 27th. FYI - what does this ride include? If you know me my rides are equal parts of the following: Getting Lost (Get Lost Rides) Cool Streets (Streets that are not straight) Coolness or Hidden Portland Rides (Lots of Murals, Artwork, Colored Houses and fun found things) Light Brigade (Fun lit up rides) And Finally Foodie and Family Friendly Rides The Mini Memorial Ride will be a condensed (Mini) version of the larger ride on the 23rd staying in the inner city and wrapping up at the Duckworth Dock for a swim in the Willamette Please bring any photos and stories about Benno Boy

Leave about 7:45
Music about fighting the system, Standing up for those around you, Pushing back on the ideas of conformity and passive acceptance. Attacking the corporate system and capitalism running out of control. NMA has gone through a maturing as they started in the early 80’s and their style and music has developed a lot over the decades. From driving drums, riffs and bass and all out ‘F$&@ this system’ punk yelling too more rounded vocals, lyrics and mature music that still clearly says, ‘F$&@ this system’. This band has meant the world to me personally and has a profound influence on my political and personal views. They speak directly to the experience of growing up in the post industrial depressed region of the North of England. They constantly talk of the beauty and mysticism of the Moors and the windswept hills in comparison to the valleys where factories and mills reduce people too nothing but cogs in a machine that doesn’t value them. They draw the gaze too fighter jets practicing low level bombing in the Lake District and its incongruousness to the beauty of the region, they speak of run a ways escaping dire home life and tattooing themselves to fit in, the plight of immigrants, the giving of oneself sexually just to feel at least for some time a sense of being loved, the lost of friends to illness and addiction, the prevailing mental health impacts on a society forced to conform too working endlessly only too afford nothing but a pissed up weekend a moldy flat and little hope in anything but to keep your head down and don’t rock the boat… I love this band. This ride is a continuation of the effort to cast of the ‘being small’ feeling that harassment has caused me personally and in wanting to limit my self expression and joy so as not to be targeted more, but eff that. We practice consent and non-violence on all our rides. This ride has raucous music but being aggressive towards others on the ride with riding style or drivers is totally unfitting the spirit of this band and you will be asked to moderate your behavior or leave.

TNR #543: John Russell’s Bachelor Party
Thursday Night Ride
Thu, Aug 28, 2025, 7:00 PM
Meet at 7:00, announcements at 7:30, leave after “Beer Minutes.”
End location: Not a loop, but usually with a fire.
Thursday Night Ride is Portland’s longest-running weekly social ride, riding every Thursday night since 2015! Routes and ride leaders change weekly, but expect an energetic party-paced “rolling dive bar” of a ride for newcomers and regulars alike. Most rides will feature park and store stops, but come prepared to have fun and celebrate cycling together—other wheeled guests should respect the pace and space of cyclists. New leadership, same positive vibes. While you might expect some wheelies and other chaos, riders are expected to follow Shift’s Code of Conduct, and if you’re banned from any Shift rides, TNR isn’t for you. No complaints, just accountability—if your behavior makes others feel uncomfortable or unsafe, please leave the ride before the ride leaves you. Riders should practice consent, accountability, respect, and de-escalation at all times. Stay behind the ride leader and don’t forget to thank a corker! 📍 Salmon Street Springs, every Thursday, rain or shine. 🕖 Meet at 7:00, announcements at 7:30. ✨Be an Empowered Bystander✨ See something off? Step up in a way that feels right for you: 🗣️ Direct: If it's safe, say *That's Not Right* for TNR. 🎭 Distract: Change the vibe and give them an out 🙋🏽 Delegate: Get help from a ride leader or trusted friend ⏳ Delay: Check in with the person afterwards 📝 Document: Write down what happened
⛲️ If you have any questions, concerns, or just want to get involved, come early and ask for the ride leader—we’ll see you at the fountain!

Gather at 7pm, Ride at 7:30pm.
Join this ride and settle the age-old question: Metallica or Megadeth? THEME: Metallica vs. Megadeth! Expect an alternating playlist spanning the careers of both bands. Repping your team by wearing Metallica or Megadeth gear is encouraged! ROUTE: Route will be about 13 miles with a store stop, taking a little bit over 2 hours in total. Ride may not be an exact loop, but will likely end within a mile of start location. While the route won’t be posted beforehand, feel free to ask the ride leader about specifics at stops if you have questions. Please refrain from playing conflicting sounds/your own music, as this is a curated playlist. Depending on ride size, may be open to big synced sound systems for back of ride. --------- This ride aims to be a safer space. We take the Shift2Bikes Code of Conduct seriously - alert a ride leader if you feel uncomfortable for any reason (racism, transphobia, sexism, people inappropriately touching you or making inappropriate remarks). Banned riders are banned here.

We leave at 7:39if you’re running late message us on insta
Motörhead. What can you expect? Theme: The legendary Motörhead vs all other Rock. Playlist will have LedZepplin and punk pre-cursors to Motörhead and also the legions of bands inspired by Motörhead like Metallica and Slayer. Is Motörhead the best hard rock band ever? Absolutely not but there is something about their attitude and music that is amazing. Anti-Authority, encouraging self realization, fierce anti religion and anti nationalism and all at a tempo that makes techno seem sedate….and an intensity that grips the heart and pumps the adrenals. Lemmy is one of the most loved musicians ever. Route, will adjust depending on weather but there will be a store stop and the route will be a loop. Just because the music is rock doesn’t mean bad behavior is acceptable. Mosh pit rules apply. Get your freak on but don’t mess with others and the stronger amongst us protect those who need it. Banned riders are banned here.

Since I don't see one posted (I might have just missed that connection myself) I am posting this ride this year. Did you meet someone awesome at Loud n Lit but couldn't really hear them for their number? Were you too shy on the naked ride to ask that cutie for their digits? Did you dance the night away at contra but miss a dance with that one person? Or like your ride leader get wrapped up in a conversation and then bail on the ride bc it's getting late but forget about contact info for your new friend until you're halfway home? Note, this isn't specifically a singles looking for love ride (those exist and you should go to them if that describes you) this is for all missed connections. To accompany the theme we will visit several transit stations and sigh heavily when the train/bus has just left. We will (hopefully) not miss the connection to the Queen and Bowie ride, while the plan is not to merge with this ride the route will take us past their gathering location hopefully just as they begin to gather, so mayhaps you could make 2 connections in 1 night...

Fri, Aug 29, 2025, 7:00 PM
Meet 7ish. Ride 8 ish.
Find your bike Every Friday Night. We meet at Ladds circle, in the circle. If it is raining, head down to the covered area of Abernethy Elementary School. Ride slowly meets at 7 pm and departs roughly at 7:45/8ish pm. An honorary 3 minutes of Ladd laps (Ding Ding Ride/Ladd500) and then we send it. Sometimes we have guest ride leaders. Friday Night Rides are different every time. Sometimes we go to other rides happening around town during the summer. End of ride fires/good vibes/respect/no jerks/ We are a community. Respect each other! No aggressive, sexist, racist, or any other kind of BS will be tolerated. Violations against the code of conduct will be reported to shift2bikes. If you ride Sur-Ron/powerful electric bikes this is not the ride for you. You can come but you might be heckled. This is a bicycle ride. Bring lights/locks/responsible vibes/a cup/ Casual pace with some extra zip 10-20ish mile rides with store stops/park stops/art stops NOT NECESSARILY A NO DROP RIDE… ESPECIALLY IN THE FALL/WINTER/SPRING. Be careful of slippery roads/leafs on ground/pot holes. Call out road hazards to help bike friends stay safe. 1st Friday is bottle share night. (bottle of wine/crazy beer/kombucha/coconut water/fizzy waters/anything you like to drink/want to share) 2nd Fridays are MMR - later night vibes to make it to Midnight Mystery Ride. If you want to lead a ride just ask! REPEAT… NOT NECESSARILY A NO DROP RIDE… ESPECIALLY IN THE FALL/WINTER/SPRING. Guest ride leaders wanted and appreciated! Instagram @fridaynightride

Meet at 8 and wheels at 9!
The first and only annual Eurodance-party and closing Pedalpalooza celebration ride! The best and silliest genre of music ever created erupted from Europe in the late 80s and early 90s and took over every corner of the world. This will be a celebration of that pinnacle of human musical creation and riding bikes with your friends. Featuring artists such as Corona, La Bouche, Vengaboys, Aqua, Cascada, Ace of Base, and MORE. Dress in your raddest party attire, 90’s futurism, classic rave wear, or whatever brings you joy. Featuring DJ Fancypants, Bumblecrow (Arcata, CA), and Special Guest Party pace, all wheels welcome, ~8 miles, store stop, and probably a midway dance party. I have one small sound trailer so all other speaker bikes feel free to join! Overlapping sound is a Pedalpalooza tradition! But please try to play tunes loosely within the genre (90’s-00’s Techno, House, Bass, etc.) Ride will not be a loop More details coming soon! Seeking more DJ’s with a love for the genre/era for end spot! The Shift code of conduct applies here! https://www.shift2bikes.org/pages/shift-code-of-conduct/ +If it’s not a heck yes it’s a heck no! +If you are banned from other rides you are banned from this one too! +Leave no trace! +Don’t be a jerk! The vibe is Loud n’ Lit, but its approximately ‘2001 🌠

Not a ride
Variable, announced every Thursday, TBA
Brian McGloin
Sat, Aug 30, 2025, 9:00 AM
Starts at about 9, people roll in and out through around 11
We meet at a different park in Portland every Saturday all year morning at about 9 to talk about home repair, travel plans, obscure board games, insects, etymology and sometimes bikes. Coffee Outside is often a meeting or starting point for adventures, day rides, group food cart rides or other outings. Bring a means to make coffee or some sort of coffee-adjacent beverage, or not. Instant chai? Perfect. A canned coffee beverage from the bodega? Legit. A special small batch blend of beans roasted in your neighborhood roastery that you measure by weight (portable scale, naturally) hand-grind in your titanium grinder before making a slow pour-over using hand-made paper filters and perfect temperature water? Sure, go for it. Baked goods are always appreciated but not at all required. Uniform? Nope. Fancy bike? Nope. Racing or ultra bikepacking chops? Nope. We enthusiastically welcome new faces and have no barrier to entry other than being your authentic self and leaving any bad/aggro attitudes at home. We post the location every Thursday on the PDX Coffee Outside website, which our friend Chris updates, and our Instagram account.

Party Starts at 9, ride at 10am
End location: Hillsboro Farmer's Market
This will be on high traffic roads. The goal is to bring cyclists together and show our officials across Washington County, including Beaverton, Hillsboro, Tigard, Bethany, and beyond that even though we're in the suburbs, our community is full of cyclists who deserve safe infrastructure too. Our leaders need to work together! We need infrastructure that makes riders and families feel safe—because when people feel safe, more will ride! All people and all wheels are welcome! Always stick to riding in the right lane. ------------- The party will kick off at Cascade Bikes in Beaverton at 9am! The closest Max station is the Beaverton Central Max stop (the round). We will depart at 10am and ride en-masse to Hillsboro, ending near the Hillsboro Farmers Market. The closest Max station at the end will be the Hillsboro Central/SE 3rd TC Max stop. The ride will be approximately 12.5 miles with a bathroom break near the middle. Check it out here: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/52351906 ------------- This ride will abide by and follow the Shift Code Of Conduct. We are here to celebrate cycling in the West Suburbs, not to antagonize drivers, however we will be corking our ride to ensure the safety of our riders. What is Critical Mass? A mass bike ride and party-protest in cities all over the world, started 30 years ago in SF! Critical Mass bike rides are not just about cycling, it's about reclaiming public space, celebrating community, and making a statement for sustainable urban living. Streets are not just for cars and large group rides help to assert bicyclists' right to ride in the streets and celebrate the bicycle as a form of transportation. There is strength and safety in numbers What is corking? Corking is when you use your bike & body as a wall to ensure the ride can pass through an intersection safely, to keep the group together. Remember, strength and safety in numbers! This ride may not be suitable for small kids on their own bikes as we may be on busy roads with traffic.

I’m very sad to say Goodbye to my trusty steed as he had become a huge part of who I am. There will be a memorial ride to say goodbye and to welcome his successor on Wednesday August 6th (Mini Version) and Saturday August 23rd (Full Version) Thank you to all the incredible bike mechanics for keeping him running since he was purchased from The eBike Store May 4th 2017 you are heroes of the highest order. COME SEND IT Techno, House Tech, DnB, Hard Tech, some Psy??? This time stepping away from the classic Berlin hard style and finding influences from all over the World. Expect fast electrifying music. This is my (Bianca) favorite ride, so if you come dance with me ya'll make me the happiest. Come roll with us for the last Saturday of pedalpalooza to get all that energy out. Store stop, plenty of dance stops, short ride. As with all our rides, we practice consent and non-violence. Listen and empower ‘no’. If you have concerns please talk to the ride leader. We practice non-violence around car interactions, please be calm, respectful, friendly when corking or let someone else do it. Our default is to ask cars to stop, not make them.

Wrap up Bike Summer in style! Celebrate the summer that was by dressing up in an outfit that represents your favorite Bike Summer ride. Maybe it's Loud N' Lit? Maybe it's the Cat Ride? Maybe the Cone Ride? Whatever it is, come out and show it — and its leaders — some love. Reminder: This is *NOT* a naked ride. If one of the naked rides was your favorite, we invite you to get creative, but all private bits need to be covered. ---- Ride Safe PDX is a queer-led group that's working to build an inviting, inclusive, and welcoming bike community. We practice consent and follow the Shift2Bikes Code of Conduct. All wheels welcome, including e-bikes and skates. Find us on Instagram @RideSafePDX.

Portland’s street art culture is older than any of us, but until the past decade, the culture was a shadowy one. Thanks to support from a strong collective of street artists, the inner Eastside is the heart of the intense, passionate street art scene. Start in that heart, where we will safely fit you for a bike and helmet, ready for a sweet 4-6 mile/8-10 km ride to visit some of the oldest art forms and canvases (wheat paste and an incredible user-created skate park) and some of the newest (cool spray paint styles and brand-new buildings made for art). You’ll learn about graffiti culture and some of our long-time favorite artists and the city’s newest darlings, pass by or visit cool old import shops filled with art inside and out, learn how the art culture is connected to the protest scene, stop for a treat if desired, and leave with a phone packed with vibrant photos! Disclaimer: The description above was taken from the Around Portland Tours website (https://aroundportlandtours.com/bike/street-art-pdx-bike-tour/). I've been working for them this summer and specialize in this ride. It's awesome, and I want to share this as-professional-as-I-can-be, would-normally-cost-money, local tour experience with my friends and loved ones in the Portland bike community. If you do not have a bike, or want to bring someone without a bike, we will have bikes and helmets available to rent, but the ride itself is free. We also have some very cool people that work here, nice bikes for sale, super talented and smart mechanics, and some truly wonderful shop dogs. After the ride, we'll meet at the WonderLove food carts for food and bev, and there MAY be a special guest DJ. If that sounds like your jam, I hope to see you there.

Let's go look at some pretty buildings! This architecture tour is focused on ornamentation and materials. We'll look at vibrant decorations, and examples of different materials used over time for structures and exteriors. The 14 mile route goes through neighborhoods in NE, N, and SE Portland. We'll stop a few times to admire buildings, but otherwise the tour will keep rolling. There will not be a store stop. Pace: 8-11MPH. This ride is not a fast ride, and there will be numerous opportunities to regroup. That said, it is not a no-drop ride.

Ride is a loop
End location: Ride is always a loop
Our instagram is nakedHeartspdx so you can see how we ride. Weekly themed rides. Different ride leaders each week, but you can expect the ride to be social paced (8ish mph), no-drop, safe and welcoming, store stop with safe clean bathroom access and the ride is always a loop. We practice consent and non-violence specially with car interactions, what one ride does affects how all rides get treated. The Mellow Mondays are a space for (new) ride leaders to try out ideas in a very supported environment. You’ll often see Mondays rides appearing again during the warmer riding season. We follow the shift code of conduct and expect everyone to be respectful of themselves and others around them. This is so we can actually relax and have fun and connect with each other in a softer space. This isn’t a sober ride but we ask for moderation to keep the atmosphere relaxed. We recommend Abraham Fixes bikes in N Williams and NomadCycles (e-bike specialist) for repairs/sales and parts. Our friends over at RideSafePDX host regular ride and we’ recommend those as a pleasant warm group to ride with.

For those of you who can't make it on Wednesday to Rainbow Plaza or for those of you who need a 2nd day of community building, or for those of you who like/love to drink wine... I present to you a weekly Tuesday event at Bar Botellon ! just three blocks from Blumenauer Bridge! $2.00 tapa with every glass of wine purchased. https://barbotellon.com/tapas - tapas menu ! https://barbotellon.com/drinks - wine menu & other drinks :) Join other bike-minded folks for good wine, great tapas, and Spaniard vibes on the corner of NE 6th & Davis at Bar Botellon every Tuesday from 4-8pm (or so). Just show up and hang out. That's it! All ages are welcome but there is only street parking and bike racks where you can park bikes and displace cars if you want. No coloring books (sorry Jonathan :/ ) or crayons for the kiddos, but feel free to bring your own activities: puzzles, chess, games, GUITARS, castanets, whatever!
