We meet up every other Tuesday. We ride in the Southeast Portland we have food carts and a beer tent at the start of the ride. And we go somewhere and generally have a fire. Then join our New to Portland ride on Wednesday, September 30th! We'll see parks, current and future bikeways, and find other gems in the area. This is part of a series of New to Portland rides for 2026 exploring different areas and designed for folks who want to get to know their neighborhoods and neighbors. Portland business continue to have a rough time. Join this “bikes mean business” ride to show some biking love to the businesses on NE Broadway. Why Broadway? They, like other businesses, are impacted by the I-5 shutdown. Last year they also supported a transformation of the NE Broadway corridor to remove a travel lane and dramatically improve the corridor for both biking and walking. Let’s say “THANKS” by demonstrating yet another way that biking makes Portland better: by using our dollars to support local businesses. Plan on dinner, drinks and other purchases on the corridor! Meet at Terry Schrunk Plaza at 4:15; ride at 4:30 to Broadway where we’ll spend some $$$ and have a good time. This ride is supported by the city’s Bicycle Advisory Committee, BikeLoudPDX, Office of Small Business, PBOT and Mayor Wilson’s Office.

Thursday Night Ride is Portland’s longest-running weekly social ride, rolling out from Salmon Street Springs every Thursday night since 2015! Routes and ride leaders change weekly, but expect an energetic, party-paced social ride with warmth and weirdness from our welcoming “rolling dive bar” regulars. Most rides feature regularly spaced park and store stops, generally leading to a lively end spot around 11 PM. Come prepared to have fun and celebrate cycling together—other wheeled guests should respect the pace and space of cyclists. Strong Thursday traditions, stronger shared expectations. While you might see some wheelies and other chaos, riders are expected to follow Shift’s Code of Conduct. If you’ve been asked not to attend *any* Shift rides, you are not welcome at TNR—that’s not up for debate on our ride. No complaints, just accountability—if your behavior makes others feel uncomfortable or unsafe, please leave the ride before the ride leaves you. TNR works best when everyone helps set the tone and shares responsibility. Look out for each other, welcome new riders and help them find the next stop, leave it better than you found it, give people space when they need it, and help keep the ride moving forward together by practicing Consent, Accountability, Respect, and De-escalation at all times. Thursday nights. Hard start at 8:05 PM. It's almost the weekend, so let's ride bikes. We roll from and return to Columbia Park (meet in front of the pool) for an hour-ish ramble through North Portland and beyond. No agenda beyond riding bikes with good people. Expect roughly 10 miles at a conversation-friendly pace (~10 mph). We usually have a brief rest stop along the way for snacks, stretching, high fives, admiring a weird tree, taking in a panoramic view, or whatever else seems important at the time. This is a no-drop ride. Basket bikes, ATBs, all-road bikes, cruisers, "gravel" bikes, fancy bikes, old bikes, rusty bikes, whatever. If your bike can comfortably cruise at ~10 mph for an hour, it’ll be fine. Bring:

MENOPUNKS is opening a month of advocacy the way it opened the summer: on two wheels, loud, and headed somewhere that matters. On October 2 at 6 PM, MENOPUNKS launches MENOPUNK THE VOTE with a community bike ride through Portland, kicking off Menopause Awareness Month with Riot Grrl punk rock blasting from the sound system for the entire route. Riders will have the chance to register to vote along the way, with a dedicated stop at a mailbox to drop new registrations before the deadline. The timing is deliberate. The International Menopause Society set this year's World Menopause Day theme as Chronic Pain at Midlife, a topic deeply close to the MENOPUNKS heart: two decades of women were told their symptoms were in their heads, or not worth treating, because of a hormone replacement therapy study whose own investigators now say the results were manipulated. In November 2025, the FDA admitted as much, walking back 24 years of black box warnings. "Chronic pain at midlife isn't a mystery, it's a policy choice," said Alicia J. Rose, director and creator of MENOPUNKS. "We got denied care for twenty years. We're not asking politely for it back. We're riding through this city and registering every single person we can to go vote like it matters, because it does." MENOPUNK the VOTE kicks off a full month of advocacy for MENOPUNKS, first launched at Menopunkapalooza this summer, and is the only stop this fall built around new voter registration. Friday night ride is a social ride for people who enjoy a sporty pace and adventurous routes. Every ride is different but generally range between 15 and 25 miles and you can expect some climbing and higher speeds than your average pedalpalooza ride. NOT NECESSARILY A NO DROP RIDE. Riders should be self sufficient and have a plan for getting themselves home. This is a bicycle-forward group ride. Pedal-assist ebikes are ok (class 1 & 2). Throttle heavy, high speed battery powered motor bikes are not (class 3 & 4). If you're not pedaling it’s not a bicycle and you will asked to leave. Bring lights/locks/responsible vibes/a cup/ Casual pace with some extra zip 10-20ish mile rides with store stops/park stops/art stops NOT NECESSARILY A NO DROP RIDE… ESPECIALLY IN THE FALL/WINTER/SPRING. Do you love devils food or a yeast raised with sprinkles? Maybe a Mexican mocha or Boston cream? Why live in a land of OR, when you can live in a land of AND. Lets roll west to my favorite doughnut spot, load up our panniers and head north to Whispering Woods. It's there we'll enjoy our doughnut delights and one of my favorite park trails. Ride will be no drop with moderate pace and some trail riding. Come play bikes!

Maybe you'll find your new favorite LBS (local bike shop). This ride kicks off PBOT's Ride Through the Seasons campaign, so we'll ride rain or shine. Dress for the weather! The ride is a loop (we'll return to start point) and is about 11 miles long. We will be meeting in Duer Portlands backyard followed by a ~8mile loop and end at Tomo Bouldering Club with a discounted entry ($18). Join us October 4th for our inaugural Bike with Me at Garden Home Recreation Center. Our first guided ride wilt take off at 10am and bike along the Fanno Creek Trail to Vista Brook Park. At the park, you’ll get to enjoy outdoor games, learn about bike safety and grab a snack. Beaverton Safe Routes to School (SRTS) will provide helmet fittings and helmets, if needed. Their program aims to increase physical activity for kids and create fun opportunities for students to bike to school. Garden Home Library will be there to encourage families to not only ride together, but to read together as well. Look for them along the trail and at the park. WashCo Bikes works to provide bike safety education in schools and strives to make bikes available for people of all ages and abilities. With a focus on underserved communities, they work to make bikes, training and infrastructure available to everyone. Come learn about their program. Beaverton City Police Bike Patrol and Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue will discuss bike safety and answer any questions participants have about rules on the roads and trails. Our ‘Rec Mobile’ will provide fun, bike themed activities to learn the importance of safety through games. Guided rides will start from Garden Home Recreation Center at 10am and 10:30am. The trail is paved and approximately 1.1 miles each direction. If biking isn’t your thing, meet us at Vista Brook Park between 10am-11:30am and have fun with our outdoor games and activities. Everyone is invited to come connect with neighbors, learn about trails in our community and get outside together. Participants can stay as long as they want at the park and bike back to Garden Home Recreation Center at their own pace. Whether your child is an experience rider or just getting comfortable on a bike, everyone is welcome! Slow pace, about 8 mph, Distance varies but approx 10 miles, Family friendly, We practice consent and non-violence on all our rides, Store stop for safe clean bathroom access but generally we try and make these stops short, Skater friendly (but please check with ride leader about crunchy or potential issues for skates), ALL Wheels friendly (scooter, skates, skateboard, e bikes etc), Ride is always a loop, Corking and traffic intersections are calm. Be mindful of smoking around others and do not smoke around children. FAQ, Can I bring a speaker? Yes but please speak to the ride leader and play the music they’ve carefully selected or what their preference is. Can I lead a ride? Yes, please attend a few first and get a feel for how the rides are. I’ve heard NakedHearts supports other rides? Yes, we can help with planning, encouragement, promotion, sound support and what not. What do you mean you practice consent? We ask everyone (even friends, relatives, husbands and wives with each other) to ask for permission before touching anyone else or their belongings and when asking to seek listen and empower ‘No’. What do you mean you practice Non-violence? We specifically expect everyone to be calm, kind and respectful with all car interactions. One riders aggression to a car driver can put everyone else at risk. We live in a small city and are bound to encounter the same drivers again. Are all your rides a protest? Yes, being together with respect and acceptance and finding comfort and joy around others and strangers is an act of protest against the divisive paradigm we are in.

It's the third anniversary of October 7th. Let's ride our bikes together to mourn the dead and honor all those fighting for a better world. This casual-paced ride starts in the morning and ends in the evening, bringing chanting and Palestinian music to all quadrants of the city. There will be lots of stops along the way for food and activities, and we welcome you to join at whichever stop is convenient for you and ride with us as long as you like. The full list of stops/times will be posted closer to the date of the ride. Inexperienced riders and families with kids are welcome, but for those bringing kids, please note that we can't promise there won't be any dirty language in our playlist! 🙉 Don't forget your keffiyehs and flags 🇵🇸 -------------------------------------------------- WHY WE RIDE ON OCTOBER 7: October 7th marks the anniversary of the start of a genocidal assault on Palestinians in Gaza. Conservative estimates put the death toll at 70,000+. The true number is likely much higher, with many deaths going unreported as the dead are lost under the rubble. The International Association of Genocide Scholars has concluded that this is, in fact, a genocide. We ride, first and foremost, to mourn the victims of this ongoing genocide, and to raise awareness of the fact that many Palestinians are still fighting for their lives. But we also ride for another reason: to honor those who are fighting back and making changes – including those doing so right here in Portland. Because October 7th wasn't just the start of a horrific genocide; it was also the start of a major shift in Western awareness. Abuses that Palestinians have endured for decades are finally being seen and talked about widely, and change is happening. We recognize that the popularization of the Palestinian cause has also come with a push to assign blame to singular bad actors and their associated political parties – a convenient strategy for war profiteers who want us to look the other way while they continue to bulldoze Gaza. If you've been paying attention to current events, you likely know that politicians like Trump do not emerge from a vacuum; his political rise was supported and enabled at all levels of American society. Likewise, Netanyahu's criminal actions can't be considered aberrant when recent polls have shown that a majority of Israelis support the removal of Palestinians from Gaza. Corruption and racism is deeply entrenched in our intertwined societies, enabled by corporations, real estate moguls, and power-hungry religious leaders. We can't escape the problems by installing new political leaders within the same fundamentally flawed system. And so it is crucial to reject superficial political solutions, and celebrate those who are working to shake up the system at a foundational level. We honor dock workers who refuse to load weapons shipments, volunteers traveling to the West Bank to defend Palestinian farmers, local activists working to pass human rights legislation, journalists getting information past walls of propaganda, communities coming together to protect their immigrant neighbors from ICE, and many others who've put their bodies and livelihoods on the line to stand up for what's right. And we ourselves are part of this movement when we ride our bikes together. When we choose a means of transportation that isn't powered by fossil fuels, we reject the idea that oil companies like Chevron have the right to drill in occupied Palestinian waters, and we reject the normalization of handing over our $$ to corporations that require violent US imperialism to thrive. Thursday nights. Hard start at 8:05 PM. It's almost the weekend, so let's ride bikes. We roll from and return to Columbia Park (meet in front of the pool) for an hour-ish ramble through North Portland and beyond. No agenda beyond riding bikes with good people. Expect roughly 10 miles at a conversation-friendly pace (~10 mph). We usually have a brief rest stop along the way for snacks, stretching, high fives, admiring a weird tree, taking in a panoramic view, or whatever else seems important at the time. This is a no-drop ride. Basket bikes, ATBs, all-road bikes, cruisers, "gravel" bikes, fancy bikes, old bikes, rusty bikes, whatever. If your bike can comfortably cruise at ~10 mph for an hour, it’ll be fine. Bring:
-Front and rear lights (required)
-Snacks if you'd like
-water or optional beverage, maximum vibes (no store stop). And, an extra bike tube wouldn't hurt! Remember, wherever we end up along the way, we always practice Leave No Trace! Meet: 7:45 PM
