SUMMARY:SE Portland Technically Singletrack 2023
CONTACT:Brian McGloin
DESCRIPTION:Technically singletrack started as a pandemic lockdown joke
for me\, calling every footpath and unpaved surface "technically
singletrack." Then I noticed that I can connect a footpath to an unpaved
alley to an unimproved roadway to make routes around Portland. These
routes are fun and often circuitous ways to get around and get away from
pavement. \n\nThis route is a little less than 20 miles and winds its way
 through Woodstock\, what's left of Errol Heights\, both Moorelands\,
Johnson Creek and whatever neighborhoods both sections of the Springwater
are in. \n\nHere is the route on Ride with GPS:
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/43847053\n\nMy goal for this ride is to
show an alternate view of Portland\, to see it not through car-centric
infrastructure but through side entrances\, wallpapered-over windows* and
forgotten passages. This route requires a little humor and a willingness
to expand your definition of "singletrack." \n\nThis is a fun no-drop
cruise that has a few narrow and twisty parts but is mostly wide open.
\n\n*We're not actually riding through windows\, unfortunately.\nMeet at
 6:00\, roll out at 6:30\nhttps://shift2bikes.org/calendar/event-17470
LOCATION:Hampton Opera Center\n2398 SE 2nd Pl\, Portland\, OR 97214\nThe
picnic tables behind the Hampton Opera Center near the OMSI streetcar and
MAX stops. (Same as last year)
