SUMMARY:Reign of Taco Ride 2.0
CONTACT:Tacogistics Team
DESCRIPTION:https://linktr.ee/reign_of_taco_ride\nThe idea is simple:
Pedalpalooza riders self organize and consume as many tacos as they can
over the course of one day (August 6th)! \n\nThe 1st annual Reign of Taco
Ride (June 6\, 2023) had 36 active teams and 151 visits. Collectively\, we
consumed at approximately one half of all of the spots in the
metropolitan area! Thanks to all the 2023 taco riders. For 2024\, let us
do it all over (but eat EVEN MORE tacos)! \n\nWe love tacos. Portland\, OR
is fortunate to have hundreds of taco shops. Each shop has it's own menu
of tacos on offer so there are literally thousands of tacos available in
locations liberally distributed throughout all 6 quadrants of our city.
every. single. Day! Roll up and celebrate glorious tacos and appreciate
taco makers. Reign of Taco Ride is most excited about supporting local and
family owned businesses and hopes you'll take this opportunity to try
unfamiliar/new and non-franchised spots.\n\nThere are so many spots and
they're so far apart that no normal Pedalpalooza ride could ever hope to
visit each and every one. This ride is unique in that lasts ALL DAY
Tuesday August 6th but with NO specific MEET-UP location\, ROUTE or END
LOCATION. It’s up to you to decide where to roll and what spots to hit!
Start and end where you’d like\, organize teams of family or friends\, or
roll solo\, but make sure to log the progress of your delicious adventure!
Points are awarded for each spot your team frequents\, with bonuses for
being the 1st party there and/or for eating all the tacos on the menu.
Organized chaos is the only way to eat this incredible array of fantastic
food. We need whole squadrons of self-propelled taco lovers to realize
this collective a'chomp'lishment!\n\nWe wish you many tasty moments and
maximum taco satisfaction. \n\nhttps://tacoapp.verynice.party/ is our
custom built interactive online taco-tracker. Log in to register your
self/team. Use it as a guide to find spots as well as a log for places you
have visited (which will then be marked by a team-colored flag). You are
able to include bike-ability and taco reviews\, descriptions and photos!
This application will be updated (new spots added\, and 2023 reviews/flags
archived or removed) prior to the 2024 event... \n\nThe Reign of Taco
Ride is the brain child of Joshua Force (currently on a leg of a lifetime
bike tour around the world towards Bogota\, Columbia). He suggested the
idea to Karl Freitag who was initially flabbergasted at how it could ever
be accomplished! In part this was a response to all of the local non-
ethnic food events (Pizza Week etc.). We thought to loop in Adam Novotny
to help us with this puzzling concept. He became our web-wizard:
assembling a comprehensive list of locations and developing our\, now
tried-and-tested\, online team-oriented interactive map app! Karl launched
a Discord server for communication between taco riders and send us
feedback.\n\nAll the links can be found

and wrap-up event TBD…\n\nin 2023 Bike Portland said: "Each year there’s
at least one new ride that captures our imagination. This year I’m very
intrigued by the Reign of Taco Ride (6/6) created by the inimitable Joshua
Force. With substantial contributions from Karl Freitag he has dreamed up
a one-day plan to have bike riders fan out and order at least one taco
from every single taco joint in the region. Another member of the taco
crew\, Adam Novotny\, collected an exhaustive list of every taco joint in
the city for the location of each cart and cafe. Then he created an
interactive taco map with an ability for participants to log in and track
their purchases. What an amazing way to celebrate cycling and tacos!"\nALL
