SUMMARY:Bike Milwaukie Winter Solstice Ride

DESCRIPTION:Join Bike Milwaukie for a ride to Milwaukie's Winter Solstice 
 event\, an annual celebration at Milwaukie Bay Park to view the Christmas 
 Ships(link is external)\, warm by a bonfire\, and purchase some tasty 
 treats. The ride will meet at Ball Michel Park off the Spring Trail for a 
 direct ride to Milwaukie Bay Park arriving around 4pm. There will be 
 temporary bike parking setup for those who arrive by bike. \n\nHere are 
 some details about the event: \n\nWe have you covered! - While everyone is
  crossing their fingers for good weather\, we also know that it rains in 
 Oregon sometimes. We will have a few large tents to keep us all dry as we 
 enjoy the view.\n\nFood\, hot chocolate\, and coffee for purchase for a 
 great cause (Cash or Credit/Debit Cards Accepted) Zenner's hot dogs\, 
 chili from Laughing Planet and hot chocolate/coffee from Great American 
 Video & Espresso are available along with pie\, cookies and chips. The 
 Lewelling Neighborhood District Association (NDA) will hold its annual 
 fundraiser during the event. All proceeds go to Lewelling's community 
 events\, programs and activities\, including their concerts each August at
  Ball-Michel Park. \n\nFor the second year\, the Ardenwald-Johnson Creek 
 NDA will also be joining in with handwarmers and glowing toys for sale to 
 benefit their summer concerts at Ardenwald Park. \n\nBeer Store Milwaukie 
 beer garden - After purchasing a tasty treat stop by and say hello to the 
 folks from Beer Store Milwaukie for a local craft adult beverage!\n\nWarm 
 by the bonfire or cozy up to one of the small barrel fires - The bonfire 
 will burn bright and warm again this year along with six other smaller\, 
 more intimate fires\, for you and your family to enjoy!\n\nNew This Year 
 SaunaGlo Mobile Sauna – Milwaukie’s favorite new spa will be sponsoring a 
 mobile\, wood-fired sauna near the bonfire. This one-of-a-kind experience 
 is a great way to warm up on a chilly winter night. Come down and enjoy a 
 fresh addition to this classic event!  Be sure to book your sauna session 
 reservation in advance. Event bookings will open Wednesday Dec 18 at 12pm!
  Remember to bring your water bottle\, 2 towels and your sandals. 
 Swimsuits are required and you may want to wear it under your clothes as 
 you arrive —changing rooms and showers will only be available at 
 SaunaGlo\, one block east of the event\, on Jefferson Street.”  
 \n\nChristmas Ships Parade A Tradition Since 1954 - At 4:30 p.m. the 
 combined fleet of Christmas Ships will leave RiverPlace Marina in Portland
  headed to Lake Oswego\, arriving in Lake Oswego at 6 p.m.\, subject to 
 weather and river conditions. The ships will go as far as George Rogers 
 Park\, remaining in the area for a while before turning and heading back 
 to Portland\, which will provide a second opportunity to see them pass by 
 Milwaukie Bay Park.\n\nBelow are the tentative times for the parade\, but 
 the schedule is subject to change based on weather\, currents\, boating 
 safety or other reasons beyond control of the Christmas Ships: \n\n4:30 
 p.m. - Fleet leaves RiverPlace Marina in Portland\, headed towards 
 Milwaukie\n5:30 p.m. - First time the fleet passes through Milwaukie 
 Bay\n6 p.m. - Fleet arrives at George Rogers Park in Lake Oswego\, takes a
  short break & turns around \n7 p.m. - Second time the fleet passes 
 through Milwaukie Bay\n7:45 p.m. - Fleet arrives back at RiverPlace Marina
  in Portland\n8 p.m. - Dock at RiverPlace Marina opens to the public to 
 see the Christmas Ships up close.\nMeet at 3:15pm\, ride 3:30pm\nEnds at
