AGQuBQnSEh\n\nOne lovely person has agreed to cork. \nWe need other
corkers AND if the crowd is large\, others to help watch all the bikes

cooling towels\, spray water bottles\, battery operated fans\,
etc.\n\nAlso\, there are two other events happening now (we learned of

 **********************************************\n\nFamily Friendly\, Law
Abiding\, Peaceful\, Mellow ride from Colonel Summers Park to City Council
Chambers to peacefully encourage City Councilors to revoke the permit for
the I.C.E. Detention Office on Macadam Boulevard.\n\nPortland City
Council has the right and responsibility to revoke the I.C.E. permit. The
conditions of the permit requires that “the facility and its operations
will not pose an unreasonable safety threat to nearby uses and residents”
and can not hold detainees for more than 12 hours. The I.C.E. Detention
Center is clearly a threat to the local residents of the neighborhood\,
using tear gas and rubber bullets in a residential neighborhood\, across
the street from a building that houses a low income elderly community\,
near a childcare facility\, and hospital clinics. It has held detainees
for longer than 12 hours\, violating the conditional use permit. Portland
City Council should enforce the law\, revoke the permit\, and uphold the
ideals of our Sanctuary City.\n\n***GOING INTO CITY HALL REQUIRES SECURITY
  SCREENING***\n\n\nThis is a no-drop ride. Bring food/snacks\, water for
yourself and family members\, and remember your helmets and locks. \nNo
food is allowed in Council Chambers.\nThe ride should be back to Colonel
Summers at 7:30pm.\n\nWe will need volunteers to cork\, ride at the back
(no drop). \nWe will not leave bikes unattended outside City
Hall.\n***BRING YOUR BIKE LOCKS!!***\nA volunteer will stay with the bikes
at all times.\n\nIf you’re not riding with us\, meet at 5:30pm outside
the main City Hall entrance: \n\nPortland City Hall\n1221 SW 4th Ave\,
Portland\, OR 97204\nEntrance is on SW 4th between SW Jefferson and SW
Madison.\n \nOur message will be peaceful and we will hold our signs up
silently during public comments. \n******UPDATE: Use paper signs we can
collect and give to the security guard for council members/mayor as we are
leaving the council chambers.******\n\nPer City Council Website: “Please
note: Public communications spots are fully booked through September 2025.
\nThe October dates will be available on August 1\, 2025. “\n\nWe will
hold signs or banners made from 8.5” x 11” paper (feel free to tape paper
together to make a long banner) to have zero issues with security/x-ray
machines getting into city hall. \nDon’t bring signs on sticks.\nPLEASE
PRINT YOUR OWN if you have a printer.\nFeel free to draw\, use colors\,
markers\, etc. but BOLD black on white paper will show up well.\n\nWe will
have extra paper\, tape and black markers at Colonel Summers.\n\nOur
PAPER ONLY signs should make requests of the Council.\n“ICE out of
 Portland.”\n“End ICE Presence.”\n“Portland should terminate ICE’s
contract.”\n“Revoke ICE Permit”\n\nLets keep the tone peaceful and
respectful.\n\nNo food is allowed in Council Chambers.\n\nQuestions? Email
