DESCRIPTION:The Leif Erikson Trail is one of Portland's secret summer 
 gems.  12 miles of bicycling on a shaded\, north-facing forest road.  It's
  a great place to be naked if you want cool shady conditions\, and few 
 onlookers.  \n\nIt's a steep climb up to Thurmon St to get to the 
 trailhead\, but from the start location for 12 miles to Germantown Road 
 it's only moderately hilly\, as the road mostly follows the contour lines.
   \n\nPacked gravel with rocks.  It can be done on road bikes\, but more 
 comfortable with wider tires.\nRoll at 3:30\nEnds at Burlington Beach in
