DESCRIPTION:Canceled\, Birds are gone early 😢\nEvery September thousands 
 of Vaux’s Swifts roost for the night in the chimneys around Portland. This
  year a large group of birds has been roosting at Abernethy Elementary’s 
 chimney\n\nWe’ll ride from the Laurelhurst Park Playground to Abernethy 
 Elementary on neighborhood greenways\, then watch the birds till sunset\, 
 while having a picnic dinner. Bring your own picnic!\n\nThe ride is 2 
 miles one-way and a 4 mile loop total\, with the return after sunset which
  is at 6:55pm We will listen to bird-themed music to get in the spirit 
 before watching the swifts at sunset. Bring a picnic supper with you\, 
 there is no store stop. We need to leave at 6:15 pm sharp to get to the 
 end before sunset.\n \nWe ride slow for little pedalers. Kids should wear 
 a helmet\, be able to ride in a straight line\, start and stop. Cargo 
 bikes\, tandems\, trailers and tag-a-longs are great for kids who haven’t 
 learned to pedal or get tired soon. \n \nThis ride will end well after 
 sunset around 7:45 pm\, so front headlights are required for all bikes 
 making the ride back\, especially kids’ bikes.\n \nWe'll ride together as 
 a group\, because kids are traffic too!\nMeet at 5:30pm\, leave at 5:45pm 
 sharp so we can get to Abernethy by 6:20pm to picnic before
