Ride slowly meets at 7 pm and departs roughly at 7:45/8ish pm. An honorary 3 minutes of Ladd laps (Ding Ding Ride/Ladd500) and then we send it. Sometimes we have guest ride leaders. Friday Night Rides are different every time. Sometimes we go to other rides happening around town during the summer. End of ride fires/good vibes/respect/no jerks/ We are a community. Respect each other! No aggressive, sexist, racist, or any other kind of BS will be tolerated. Violations against the code of conduct will be reported to shift2bikes. Let's do something stupid! (see other ride today) Deets: we will meet across the street in the grass from Beaverton Transit Center leaving promptly at 8:30am. We will be taking the Sunset Hwy Path in to Portland passing through Washington Park. We will descend to Flanders St all the way down to Naito. We will cross at the Hawthorne bridge and then it is a short hop over to the circle. This is by no means a perfect route but it is the one I prefer to lead a group on as it is the one I feel the safest riding of the options. There is a big hill to climb on the way to the zoo and then a long descent (so make sure you and your bike are prepared). We should have plenty of time though so do not worry if you think you climb slow. Note: The main event at Ladds is intended to be a family friendly team affair. The rules are very loose but please be respectful of the main event organizer, the event space, and other participants. If you are planning to stay in the circle for a while I recommend bringing things to help you be comfortable and to add to the party in the middle. I do plan to ride back in the evening after the event (and eating food) so if you are interested in tagging along for the return trip let me know.

Help a new street plaza work better for biking! Depave needs your help in the design process. Test ride three different configuration options. The most popular option will be installed for a month-long test this summer, and later become part of a permanent build out. Depave is building a new green street plaza at SE 7th and Sandy Blvd, a unique pilot project started four years ago. Last summer the plaza hosted events and a popup skate park, and there are plans for more events this summer. What is the right balance between placemaking and bicycle access? This is a monthly ride on the 2nd Sunday of each month. Meet at Stacks Coffeehouse around 9:30a for coffee and conversation, then leave around 10-10:15a. Ride ends back at Stacks Coffeehouse. Established in 2017, we ride once a month to enjoy what this city has to offer. Each month is led by a different CORVIDAE member, and therefore will be unique. We occasionally have themes or additional donations to different organizations. Additionally, host pop-up rides during the summer. ​We try to focus our rides on greenways, group etiquette, safety measures and general comradery. In addition to bike safety and accessibility, we want to promote using bicycles as an alternative to fossil fueled travel within Portland. This is a no-drop ride, but please bring your repair kit with a spare tube so we can keep the ride rolling. Please bring your own provisions; we’ll be stopping near stores, but not at them. Each member has an eye out for the crowd, will cork, sweep and be a general pillar of support. Ride pace is casual at around 10 miles with a few park stops. Let's go look at some cool buildings! This architecture tour is focused on ornamentation and materials. We'll be looking at buildings that have vibrant decoration in a variety of styles, and some structures that are made with interesting and surprising materials. The 11 mile route goes through neighborhoods in NE, N, and SE Portland. We'll stop 4-5 times to chat a bit about particular styles, but otherwise the tour will keep rolling. There will not be a store stop. This is a no-drop ride, but please bring a flat kit so that we can get back to the tour quickly if there are any issues.

Different ride leaders each week, but you can expect the ride to be social paced (8ish mph), no-drop, safe and welcoming, store stop with safe clean bathroom access and the ride is always a loop. We practice consent and non-violence specially with car interactions, what one ride does affects how all rides get treated. The Mellow Mondays are a space for (new) ride leaders to try out ideas in a very supported environment. You’ll often see Mondays rides appearing again during the warmer riding season. We follow the shift code of conduct and expect everyone to be respectful of themselves and others around them. This is so we can actually relax and have fun and connect with each other in a softer space. This isn’t a sober ride but we ask for moderation to keep the atmosphere relaxed. This loosely organized weekly ride aims to create a routine time for some lighthearted training with friends. Everyone is encouraged to climb Tabor at least once, and spend the hour riding however feels best to them. We’ll plan to regroup at the starting point at 7:30 so that we may enjoy celebratory snacks and beverages as a group somewhere near by. Whether you’re looking to crush your PR or just enjoy the park with friends, all are welcome. All bikes, skill levels, and body’s are celebrated here. Join Nomad Cycles and the e-bike community on our monthly East side e-bike ride! Come with a full battery to ride with the ease only an electric bike can offer. We will meet up at the outdoor seating of 5846 NE Sandy Blvd starting at 6 and ride at 6:30, meandering around interesting city terrain with an opportunity or two to climb hills effortlessly and open that throttle if you so desire. Meet at the new Trek location in Slabtown (1560 NW 21st Ave near Raleigh) for coffee and donuts at 10am. Roll out at 10:30am on a medium-paced (12-14mph) group road ride, crossing the two bridges over the Columbia River and enjoying the bike paths on each side. We'll finish where we started for a total of about 40 miles. We will try to stay together and have several quick regroup stops to help make that happen. As your ride leader, I respectfully request you stay behind me and allow me to set the pace. If you go off the front, I will not be in a position to yell cues or chase you down. If your pace is much slower than 12mph, we'll wait for a bit but may be gone from the regroup stop when you arrive. For maximum success, download the route (it's free - link below). Join Portland Bureau of Transportation's Portland by Cycle team on a community bike ride from Colonel Summers Park to Laurelhurst Park for the City's Earth Day - Together as One celebration. On April 19th, 1943, Albert Hofmann took a bicycle ride that changed history. To celebrate and commemorate his discovery of LSD, join Portland Psychedelic Society for a festive and inclusive group ride in honor of Bicycle Day. Meet us at Portland Portal, 5336 SE Bush Street, starting at 4:30 pm for a fun gathering to gear up for the ride and celebrate with like-minded others. Dress festively and decorate your bike! Ride leaders will guide us on a carefully planned route: approximately a 90 minute gentle social ride (an 8 miles loop, including midway stop), ending at Fathom PDX, 520 SW 4th Ave, Portland, OR 97204, with the option for participants to either conclude their ride or enter Fathom’s immersive art experience at no cost ($22 value). Ride around NE Portland with Kidical Mass! Put on your bunny ears and celebrate spring with a family-friendly bike ride and egg hunt. We’ll ride from the Irving Park playground to Grant Park on neighborhood greenways and quiet streets. The ride is a loop, with a break at the playground in the middle, so its suitable for most young bike riders who can pedal their own bike. Decorate your bikes and helmets with bunny ears and flowers, and bring a basket for easter eggs for the younger kids. We ride slow for little pedalers and parents on cargo bikes. Kids should wear a helmet, be able to ride in a straight line, start and stop. Cargo bikes, tandems, trailers and tag-a-longs are great for kids who haven’t learned to pedal.
