Cycle Homies
Sun, Jun 1, 2025, 1:00 PM
Meet at 1pm, ride at 3pm.
This is the official ride that kicks off the festivities every year. This year the Cycle Homies will be planning the route! Volunteers will be selling Bike Summer merch from 1:00pm to 2:30pm. We will have a limited amount of pennants and stickers for sale at the park, as well as shirts for you to try on before you buy online. If you ordered merch in the first pre-order, you need to pick it up by 2:45pm at the very latest. No 2nd order pre-merch will be available for pick up. We'll also have Ride Leader pennants to give away, first come, first served, just show us your ride listing on the calendar! We depart at 3pm on-the-dot for a family-friendly cruise. Volunteers on site will help affix pennants to bikes. If you are able to help wrench on bikes on site, or help cork the ride, please let us know. You are encouraged to dress yourself and your bike up. If you're leading a ride this Bike Summer, consider promoting your event onsite with fliers, etc. As always, be courteous to pedestrians. We will share the full route for the ride before the event. Check our Instagram or Facebook pages for details (www.instagram.com/PedalpaloozaPDX). Happy #BikeSummer, Portland!

Our instagram is nakedHeartspdx so you can see how we ride. Weekly themed rides. Different ride leaders each week, but you can expect the ride to be social paced (8ish mph), no-drop, safe and welcoming, store stop with safe clean bathroom access and the ride is always a loop. We practice consent and non-violence specially with car interactions, what one ride does affects how all rides get treated. The Mellow Mondays are a space for (new) ride leaders to try out ideas in a very supported environment. You’ll often see Mondays rides appearing again during the warmer riding season. We follow the shift code of conduct and expect everyone to be respectful of themselves and others around them. This is so we can actually relax and have fun and connect with each other in a softer space. This isn’t a sober ride but we ask for moderation to keep the atmosphere relaxed. We recommend Abraham Fixes bikes in N Williams and NomadCycles (e-bike specialist) for repairs/sales and parts. Our friends over at RideSafePDX host regular ride and we’ recommend those as a pleasant warm group to ride with.

Prince 4Ever! Kicking off Pedalpalooza once again with a BANG and celebrating Prince's Birthday on SATURDAY, June 7th!! Prince would have turned 67 years old this year and even though Prince didn't celebrate birthdays & would often say: "You only had ONE birthday, the day of your birth!" We nonetheless are going to celebrate Prince, his life, his music and his legacy . . . 40 years ago, on April 22nd, 1985, Prince’s follow up to his landmark PURPLE RAIN album (and companion movie), AROUND THE WORLD IN A DAY, was released on his newly formed Paisley Park label! So we’ll be celebrating those delicious Purple milestones as well! Starting at Sewallcrest Park (SE 32 and Market) riding around town and dancing the night away! Bring Lights! Wear PURPLE! Ride at Own Risk! *Lighthearted prelude protest, expounding the principles of http://pdxwnbr.org/why (but without the nudity?) ;) #Pedalpalooza #TeamPrince

Corvidae BC
Sun, Jun 8, 2025, 1:00 PM
Meet at 1PM. Roll out at 2PM
Established in 2017, we ride once a month to enjoy what this city has to offer. Each month is led by a different CORVIDAE member, and therefore will be unique. We occasionally have themes or additional donations to different organizations. Additionally, host pop-up rides during the summer. We try to focus our rides on greenways, group etiquette, safety measures and general comradery. In addition to bike safety and accessibility, we want to promote using bicycles as an alternative to fossil fueled travel within Portland. This is a no-drop ride, but please bring your repair kit with a spare tube so we can keep the ride rolling. Please bring your own provisions; we’ll be stopping near stores, but not at them. Each member has an eye out for the crowd, will cork, sweep and be a general pillar of support. Ride pace is casual at around 10 miles with a few park stops. We aim to impress that this is a safe environment for all; no aggressive, sexist, racist, or any other kind of BS will be tolerated. Please review our Corvidae Code of Conduct. Meet 2nd Sunday of every month Hang at 1 PM Wheels down at 2 PM sharp Bring your respect for each and the city. Leave no trace 🤘🏽

Hello beautiful people of Portland, It’s my birthday on June 11th, and I want to spend it outside—riding bikes and listening to one of my favorite rappers. I’ll be bringing a big speaker and playing Larry June’s greatest hits. Think: music about investing in property, drinking green smoothies, watering houseplants, and driving fast cars—a balance of things. I’m hoping for good weather! Oh, and I’ll have a limited amount of orange juice to hand out for free in honor of Mr. June. We’ll start at Kenilworth Park, then ride through Ladd’s Addition, stop at Colonel Summers Park, and finally loop back to Kenilworth. It’s about a five-mile route with two stops Bring water, a helmet, bike lights, party favors, and your favorite summer fit! Can’t wait to ride with you all! 🍊🍊🍊

Are you part of a tenants union or interested in figuring out how to organize one? Awesome! This ride is for you! This ride is for you even if you're not a renter, because tenants unions are playing a critical role in keeping our city affordable and livable, which benefits EVERYONE. We're celebrating the importance of tenants unions by bringing the energy, the big speakers, and an inspiring playlist on a tour of buildings all over town where residents have organized (or are working on organizing) a union. At each stop we'll hold a fun mini-rally and pick up any residents who want to come along on the ride. We'll eventually end in a park for a picnic and some community-building games and conversation. We'll have catered vegan food and drinks, but also feel free to bring snacks to share! Start, end, time, and route to be updated closer to ride– please check back.

Ride is a loop
A bike ride that pays homage to the 1960s television show by going to a desert island in SE Portland. Yes, there is a 2.5 acre island completely surrounded by water in SE Portland. This island was once private property with housing, but is now public land that is being restored to its natural state. Gilligan’s Island seems especially appropriate for Pedalpalooza, as two dozen of the 98 series episodes featured pedal-powered inventions of one sort or another. This assortment of devices includes such things as a washing machine, a cooling fan, a sewing machine, a diamond-bladed saw, an air pump, a water wheel, and even a pedal-powered dental drill to replace tooth fillings. The picture shows a four-person pedal transmitter powered by Gilligan, Ginger, Mary Ann, and the Skipper to generate enough electricity for the Professor to send a signal into outer space. The desert island we ride to dates back to the 1930s when the WPA (Works Progress Administration) attempted to tame Johnson Creek by channeling the water flow. The project was a failure, making flooding even worse, so the city has been gradually reversing it in recent years. The bridge out to the island will be removed at some point, and the island itself may cease to exist if the channel separating it is removed. The ultimate goal is to reduce flooding and provide the area with a green space that will be a community amenity. Come on the ride dressed as one of the seven stranded castaways if you like. Other options include any of the roughy three dozen visitors to Gilligan’s Island. Somehow these visitors always got off the island without helping the castaways escape. The bike ride to the desert island is four miles, followed by a food cart stop on the route back to Clinton Park. Total distance for the completely-flat loop is eight miles. Including the food cart stop this ride should amount to a Three Hour Tour.

Our second year holding this ride, but like 16th for the garden tour :) more details to come as it gets closer! Last year was SUPER fun! Gardens on the tour have a variety of aesthetics and are guaranteed to provide inspiration. It's also a great way to get out and meet your neighbors and pick up some gardening info (even if you don't have a green thumb, like myself). This will be a lovely short little ride where we will just ride together from house to house, short distance covered overall. we'll stop for 5-10-15 minutes per house to enjoy the garden and chat with the gardener (many of these people have spent countless hours over the years transforming their outdoor spaces!). Bring water/snacks/sunscreen & we're going to stop mid route at Essex park for their bathroom. Information here: • Look for signs marking each host garden • Stay on paths and sidewalks unless invited by host • Help children respect plants and protected places • No visiting pets of any kind in gardens • Restrooms are not available at private home

Ride is a loop
End location: Ride is always a loop

(Ride leaders family, before emigrating, lived in the same village in Wales for over 800 years) What better way to celebrate America’s independence than celebrating a country that fiercely stood independent from all foreign powers for 10,000 years. The Welsh Genetic lineage began around 10,000 years ago when they broke away from ancient Britons. The Ice Age had recently ended and the scoured land of Wales became accessible as 100’s of meters of Ice retreated. The Welsh people left the low lands of England by their Border and took to the hills of Wales. Rumors that his divergence is due to their tight bonds with Neanderthals exist. Over a vast span of time the Welsh resisted occupation, by every empire and country that tried. The Vikings, Anglo-Saxon’s, The Roman Empire, The British Empire, and countless tribes attempted to conquer Wales. Yet, the Welsh had perfected Guerrilla warfare, had a reputation of strength and were defiantly unstoppable against massive forces. The current population of Welsh people in Wales is about the same as the population of Greater Portland. The Welsh people maintain their language, roads signs are in Welsh all Government paperwork is in Welsh, and the Welsh country side is often filled with smoke from the deliberate burning of the second homes of English people. The Welsh through their independent history have made themselves a distinct genetic group that resembles a people as isolated as tribes in South America despite being adjacent to England.

Sorella Forte—Italian for strong sister—is a group of women, trans, and non-binary cyclists who share a passion for riding their bikes. We ride 25-40 miles at approximately 11-16 mph every Saturday at 9 a.m., from the parking lot of River City Bikes at 706 SE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Portland, Oregon. Return about 12 p.m.

Punctual roll time 10:30am
Let's ride bikes and go swimming! (No registration required, just show up) We'll ride 5 miles (and up a nice sized hill!) to a public outdoor pool (BRING $6 CASH FOR ENTRY) Then we'll ride 5 miles to a public beach on the Willamette River. Finally we'll ride 5 miles to a secret swim hole. This will take most of the day, guesstimate end time would be 5pm or so. Stay behind the ride leader. We will take several short regroup stops on the way up Terwilliger. If you're a super strong, fast rider, congratulations! But we'll be waiting for the slowest rider before resuming up the hill - a great opportunity for you speed demons to take a beat and practice patience. To get back to where we started, you can take the Trolley Trail and Springwater, about 10 miles, or hop the MAX. You will need: * $6 cash for pool entry * towel * swimsuit * sunscreen * bike lock * snacks/drinks for the day * a positive attitude The public pool entry is $6 for adults ($5 for kids). There’s always a line and paying with cash is quicker. The pool will likely be crowded and there’ll be lotsa kids and families there. We will only be stopping at swim spots, no stores or cafes. That said, there is a snack bar at our first stop (public pool). If you are bringing kids, they must be comfortable riding on streets with cars and able to keep a 12mph pace. Much of the route is bike path. If you are riding an e-bike, please be aware this ride is longer and harder than many Pedalpalooza rides, so your battery may not last all day. Here are the rules (that you agree to follow just by showing up): 1) no complaining 2) do what you want 3) don't sue me

Corvidae BC
Sun, Jul 13, 2025, 1:00 PM

Come play bikes! Ride or race bikes in a classic alley cat style race. Explore Brentwood-Darlington to find checkpoints using a (provided) paper map. Answer clues, earn bonus points, win a small prize and have fun! About 10 miles long (if you navigate wisely). Bring a pen. Bring reading glasses if ya need 'em. The hippocampus is used for memory, navigation and socializing, so bring that too. We ride whether it's hot or rainy or both! If it's rainy, a ziploc baggie can help you keep your manifest from becoming mush. All checkpoints are optional, so you can always head to the finish line line party if your fun meter starts to run low. Our finish line is Assembly Brewing. Find me outside on the 61st Avenue side with your completed manifest in hand. Finish line “opens” at 4 pm, last finishers must be done by 4:30pm. We'll have a little prize ceremony, then hang around drinking beer and eating pizza probably til 7 or so. Rules (you agree to follow just by showing up!): * no digital wayfinding (paper maps provided) * no complaining * do whatever you want * do not sue me or the venue hosting us

We’re going to cross the bridges that the bridge pedal skips. We will meet near the end point for the official ride and make our merry way to the bridges that don't get crossed. Won't be a loop, will likely end in St. Johns or somewhere in N Portland off Willamette to make getting back to where you need easier. More info TBA, likely by the end of March. I’ve wanted to add this for a long time, this is the year. These would be the east / west bridges over the Willamette only. Last year the skips were Broadway, Burnside, and St Johns I believe. Will update once the map for the official ride is posted. This ride is in no way affliated with the Bridge Pedal, this is just a fun add on for those who want to add a couple more. No requirement to partake in the official event.

Corvidae BC
Sun, Aug 10, 2025, 1:00 PM

Ride is a loop
End location: Ride is always a loop

Kevin Costner! The American West! and... BIKES?! That's right! From the writer of the INCREDIBLE "Breaking Away" comes a road trip / family dramedy / underdog sports movie that is cheesy in all the best ways, complete with TWO original songs and a synth-driven score with a couple tracks you'll definitely be adding to your gym playlist. Check out the trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6LQa_ibYe8 And join us for a ride featuring songs from the film and the year 1985. Start/end point, route, and screening location TBD.
