6:00 PM
Ride length: 8-15 miles
Join some fellow ladies for a ~10-mile ride that starts and ends at the Fort Vancouver Demonstration Garden! This ride will be party-paced (...slow) and no-drop. Ride leaders will attempt to help others with mechanical issues if they occur. We’ll meet at the parking lot near the Demonstration Garden at 4:30pm and depart on the ride at 4:40pm. If the group is up for it, we might stop for a beverage and/or a snack along the way. We'll see where the ride takes us! No dudes, no children, no offense. We want this ride to be a chill, ladies-only environment.

riding by 6
8:00 PM
End location: In or near Multnomah Village, an easy 2 miles from the start.
It's easy to navigate southwest by bike once you know how far up or down you need to go on which hill. Tour some of our unfinished bikeways and missing connections with an outside-the-box look at the terrain, "paper streets", trails, and stairs. See how auto traffic has ruined all of the flat and direct routes and find a few precious places cars haven't taken over. We'll see one or two of the very rare parks with restrooms, and various transportation projects/issues, while generally avoiding most uphills and car traffic. If you don't turn when I turn, you may get lost. (We will see, but not ride the stairs or most trails.) Gather at 5:30 at Fulton Park, ride at 6, finish around 8. 12-ish mile loop, if we see it all, but you can bail near the start from several points in the middle. This will not be a fast or hard ride and nobody will be left behind. Note: sunset is shortly after the end. We'll try to cover at least 6-8 miles and may pause at food carts/beer or just stop at a store and finish the whole loop. Kids are welcome but will need to be passenger/stoker unless they are capable riding around traffic, okay with climbing, and can handle ~12mph comfortably. Contact enobacon at gmail dot com with questions.

8:00 PM
End location: Not a ride, we stay in the same place.
One of the best parts of bike camping and touring is making meals. Here’s a chance to do that without actually going camping! Ride your bike to Tabor on your own and meet us there where we’ll make dinner. Get dinner-making practice for all the bike camping adventures you'll have this summer. Chat with other cyclotourists/bikepackers about bike touring/camping/packing plans for the summer. And nerd out over camping stove setups and impress everyone with the feast you’ll craft! Please note: THIS IS A CAMPING STOVE ONLY RIDE. Stoves should have an on/off valve for liquid or canister fuel. Much as I love alcohol stoves, they are a no-go because of the current burn ban. No wood burning stoves either. Please try to avoid the "pour hot water into a pouch" "meals" that you bought at REI. Get creative! Note: No grocery stop, come prepared

Dressing to depress is encouraged. Ride will be slightly less than 15 miles. No drop ride at a slightly more than party pace. Won't have a store stop, after a park stop, till near the end of the ride so bring some snacks and bevvies to fuel the angst

Ride is a loop
Welcome to Mellow Mondays 2026. Are you interested in leading a ride? This is a supportive and organized way to lead for the first time. Every week there’s different themes but there are constants…. Slow pace, about 8 mph, Distance varies but approx 10 miles, Family friendly, We practice consent and non-violence on all our rides, Store stop for safe clean bathroom access but generally we try and make these stops short, Skater friendly (but please check with ride leader about crunchy or potential issues for skates), ALL Wheels friendly (scooter, skates, skateboard, e bikes etc), Ride is always a loop, Corking and traffic intersections are calm. Be mindful of smoking around others and do not smoke around children. FAQ, Can I bring a speaker? Yes but please speak to the ride leader and play the music they’ve carefully selected or what their preference is. Can I lead a ride? Yes, please attend a few first and get a feel for how the rides are. I’ve heard NakedHearts supports other rides? Yes, we can help with planning, encouragement, promotion, sound support and what not. What do you mean you practice consent? We ask everyone (even friends, relatives, husbands and wives with each other) to ask for permission before touching anyone else or their belongings and when asking to seek listen and empower ‘No’. What do you mean you practice Non-violence? We specifically expect everyone to be calm, kind and respectful with all car interactions. One riders aggression to a car driver can put everyone else at risk. We live in a small city and are bound to encounter the same drivers again. Are all your rides a protest? Yes, being together with respect and acceptance and finding comfort and joy around others and strangers is an act of protest against the divisive paradigm we are in.

Are you an Ex-Mormon? Or a Jack Mormon? Or a Mormon? Or anything/anybody else? Or you just want a chill group of people to roll around town with on a Monday night? Let's get together and ride bicycles! We'll ride about 2 hours with frequent stops for soda and ice cream. And beer, if so desired. We'll talk about what it meant to be a Mormon. What it means to be an ex-Mormon. What there are so many ex-Mormons around? And what makes us/them interesting people? And talk about our experiences with the Mormon* church. In it, out of it, or anything else. What did we all think about the prohibition on beer, coffee and department store underwear? What was your "exit story?" For those curious about the Mormon faith, you are welcome! We'll probably give you an earful! Come and have a good time! * THe Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

Ride length: 8-15 miles
Back for a second summer by popular demand, it's VEGAN DINNER BY BIKE, the only bike ride in the world (probably) where you get to enjoy a free multi-course meal that is fully hauled and set up by bike! Ride along with us on this ethical epicurian adventure that will start with a curated spread of hors d'oeuvres at Piccolo Park (bring your own bottle of wine and a picnic blanket). We'll then head out on a ramble around town with stops for a main course, desserts, and after-dinner drinks. We'll listen to our favorite songs about fruits and vegetables as we ride, and we'll keep the energy going with some fun activities at each stop, including: –A trivia game with chances to win bike gear, gift cards, and other cool stuff! –An appearance by the Wild Rose Resistance Choir, who will lead the audience in a protest song sing-along during dessert! –Zines, art-making, and chances to connect with local orgs/activists! ----THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YA GO----- 🍹All food is pre-ordered and gratis but you must bring or purchase your own drinks 🍒 No RSVP required. If turnout is larger than expected, portions may be small but you'll still have a chance to sample something from each stop 🥣Please bring your own utensil and dish, as we won't be giving out disposable ones (but we will have some spares for those who forget) 🥝Gluten and nut-free options will be available, but we can't make promises about cross contamination 🍇Our ending point will be 21+ but minors are welcome to join for the rest of the ride 🚰There will be at least one bathroom mid-route, and several places to refill water 🪑We'll mostly be in outdoor spaces, so bring a blanket or folding chair if you want to sit 🚲Total distance is less than ten miles, pace will be easy, inexperienced riders welcome 🍉Free Palestine 🥗🥬🥕🍉🥑🍅🍇🥝🥔🍍🍊🍈🥭🍎🍒🍠🍓🥜🍑🥒🍋🍆🫑🥥🍌📞 ABOUT REVOLUTIONARY BICYCLE CLUB: we are a collective of cyclists who believe that all liberation causes are connected, and that showing solidarity with oppressed peoples goes hand in hand with rejecting fossil fuels and rejecting the exploitation of animals and the environment. In line with our belief in the interconnectedness of justice causes, all the food on this ride is from co-op businesses that demonstrate ethics that extend beyond food. Being a co-op means placing the needs of workers and community over profit, which is something we need a lot more of at a time when billionaires are busy trying to kill literally everyone on the planet. Several of these businesses are also listed on PORTLANDTOPALESTINE.COM, a directory of local businesses standing up against genocide and apartheid! 🇵🇸

Ride is a loop
Alright, stoners, I want to blast Sleep's seminal 1992 masterpiece, Sleep's Holy Mountain, from my speaker bike as I ride through Holy Mount Tabor Park around sunset on a car free Wednesday, and I want you to join me. Mount Tabor is closed to stupid cars every Wednesday. It's the perfect opportunity for a silly bike ride. We'll climb to the top, do some laps, probably do a few descents and climbs, all soundtracked by my personal favorite heavy psych stoner doom metal trio's best work. Ride leader will be on a cargo bike with a big speaker; it will not be a very fast ride. We'll chug along more or less at the speed of the riffs, but we will pedal for close to an hour and there will be hills; it will not be a very easy ride. Sunset on 6/24/26 is very near 9pm. My thinking is: gather around 8:00 to catch the golden hour, enjoy the view of downtown late in the day, maybe get in the "stoner" mindset (figuratively speaking), and then we'll press "play" and start riding at 8:30. I will play the album straight through from beginning to end. It is 52 minutes long, so that'll be our ride duration. Goal is to be at the top of the hill at the end of "Nain's Baptism," then maybe we chill for four minutes and twenty seconds before one last descent to their new song, "Have Spacesuit Will Travel," dropping everyone back at the start around 9:30pm. I have a Sony speaker that has a party mode that can pair with other speakers, but I haven't tried it yet and it might only work with other Sony speakers. Please arrive closer to 8pm if you want to try to sync up. Hope to see you there.

Depending on how many show up, we might play Around-the-World. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dd9NPJ0kLrY I am fond of playing a game I call The Friendly Volley while chatting. Both players win by getting to know each other better and almost never having to chase the ball or bend over to pick it up. We will proceed from Holladay Park to Bob’s Handy Pantry and Rose City Coffee Co. (3370 SE Milwaukie) arriving around 7:30 for a snack stop. We will ride to the Table Tennis Club (1720 SE Haig) to play from 8-10pm. They are staying open late for us! Optional $5 donation special for this event (regular rate is $10). Ride length: 3-8 miles
These rides are a space for those that would like to participate in group rides, but may have sensory challenges that can make it hard to participate, or those that just prefer this type of environment. Led by neurodivergent folx, rides include lower traffic routes, quieter or no music, and conduct expectations around creating a sensory friendly experience. They will be held periodically throughout the summer on Thursdays. Start locations will cycle around certain parks, and the route from each start location will be consistent. Routes will be posted on the @ridesafepdx Instagram account before the ride. These will be no-drop rides, bathroom access, and always have the option to pause the ride if anyone has needs. ---- Expectations: Consent is required at all times. Ask before touching people or their property. Keep the environment positive, and be cognizant if your behavior makes, or may make others uncomfortable. Please tell a ride leader if someone causes stress. We will vote before each ride whether we have any music. If we do have music, it will always be softer and at a lower volume. No music at all outside of the ride leader. Keep talking volume levels lower and consistent, and avoid sudden noises. Bell ringing should be reserved for alerting to issues (we can talk/wave to people we pass), and don't use electronic sounds. We will still use verbal bike safety cues. Be cognizant of scents and no smoking or vaping at all while riding (even in the back), or in noticeable proximity to the group at the start or on stops. Please no alcohol consumption during the ride. Be conscious of others and give as much space as possible. Always stay behind the ride leader. No racing, tricks, swerving, weaving in/out of the group, etc. Keep bike lights solid on lowest brightness, or off. No bright or flashing lights. People can be as social as they choose to be, or not at all. We will have wrist bands for those that wish to not be approached by others. All shift code of conduct rules and bans also apply. ---- Presented by Ride Safe PDX. We're working to make the Portland bike community safer, more welcoming, and more inclusive. Skeletons don't belong in closets! Have you ever noticed Portland's obsession with skeleton decor? If not, let's fix that. Join us for the third annual skeleton scavenger hunt where we'll ride past skeletons and skulls of all sizes, and you'll never NOT be able to notice them scattered throughout the city again. This year let's throw a bone to N Portland! (The south part). Currently my route is 7-8 miles, but I may sneak some more skeletons and miles in we'll see. 2026 Route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/55505436

Meet at 6:30, ride at 7
Ride length: 3-8 miles
It's time, Cheetah Girls, Gays, Theys and Boytoys, for the second annual Cheetah Girls ride. Time to throw your hands up if you know that you're a star! Are you ready to strut, like you mean it, free your mind? Do you *absolutely* not want to be like Cinderella, sitting in a dark old dusty cellar, waiting for somebody to come and set you free? Hop on our Cheetah Girls ride, where we will be playing all the most Cheetahliscuous hits and biking around in our most bomb, whack-attack Cheetah-print outfits! Miss us last year, and wanna know what all the hype was about? Or were you there, hitting the high notes and meeting new friends along the way? Show up ready for a moderately easy route with plenty of stops along the way! We will most definitely be stopping at a few special spots to boogie-oogie-oogie, create choreography for some of our favorite hits, and belt our hearts out with our karaoke machine. Last year we wound up at Baby Ketten singing and playing, and that's most definitely a possibility this year as well. Whether you're a Bubbles, a Chuchie, a Doe, or an Aqua, it's time to ride, sisters- so get ready to slay your own dragons and dream your own dreams! Most importantly, never forget... "You're a Cheetah Girl because of who you are and what's in your heart." Hosted by Cory and Lindy

TNR #586: Robin Returns!
Thursday Night Ride
Thu, Jun 25, 2026, 7:00 PM
Meet at 7:00, announcements around 7:30. 🕢 After 7:30, follow us to the next stop.
End location: Not a loop, but usually with a fire.
Ride length: 8-15 miles
Thursday Night Ride is Portland’s longest-running weekly social ride, rolling out from Salmon Street Springs every Thursday night since 2015! Routes and ride leaders change weekly, but expect an energetic, party-paced social ride with warmth and weirdness from our welcoming “rolling dive bar” regulars. Most rides feature regularly spaced park and store stops, generally leading to a lively end spot around 11 PM. Come prepared to have fun and celebrate cycling together—other wheeled guests should respect the pace and space of cyclists. Strong Thursday traditions, stronger shared expectations. While you might see some wheelies and other chaos, riders are expected to follow Shift’s Code of Conduct. If you’ve been asked not to attend *any* Shift rides, you are not welcome at TNR—that’s not up for debate on our ride. No complaints, just accountability—if your behavior makes others feel uncomfortable or unsafe, please leave the ride before the ride leaves you. TNR works best when everyone helps set the tone and shares responsibility. Look out for each other, welcome new riders and help them find the next stop, leave it better than you found it, give people space when they need it, and help keep the ride moving forward together by practicing Consent, Accountability, Respect, and De-escalation at all times. Stay behind the ride leader and don’t forget to thank a corker! 📍 Salmon Street Springs, every Thursday, rain or shine. 🕖 Meet at 7:00, announcements after 7:30, leave after “Beer Minutes.” 🕢 If you’re not at the fountain by 7:30, you may want to meet us at the next stop. 🧭 Ride Tracker: https://thursdaynightride.com/tracker https://ridewithgps.com/users/1303039/live_log
⛲️ If you have any questions, concerns, or just want to get involved, come early and ask for the ride leader—we’ll see you at the fountain!

Basket bikes, ATBs, all-road bikes, cruisers, "gravel" bikes, fancy bikes, old bikes, rusty bikes, whatever. If it can comfortably cruise at ~10 mph for an hour, it's welcome. Bring: -Front and rear lights (required) -Snacks if you'd like -water or optional beverage, maximum vibes. Meet: 7:45 PM . Roll: 8:05 PM sharp . Start & Finish: Columbia Park, in front of the pool. Meet 7ish. Ride 8 ish.
Friday night ride is a social ride for people who enjoy a sporty pace and adventurous routes. Every ride is different but generally range between 15 and 25 miles and you can expect some climbing and higher speeds than your average pedalpalooza ride. NOT NECESSARILY A NO DROP RIDE. Riders should be self sufficient and have a plan for getting themselves home. This is a bicycle-forward group ride. Pedal-assist ebikes are ok (class 1 & 2). Throttle heavy, high speed battery powered motor bikes are not (class 3 & 4). If you're not pedaling it’s not a bicycle and you will asked to leave. Bring lights/locks/responsible vibes/a cup/ Casual pace with some extra zip 10-20ish mile rides with store stops/park stops/art stops NOT NECESSARILY A NO DROP RIDE… ESPECIALLY IN THE FALL/WINTER/SPRING. Be careful of slippery roads/leafs on ground/pot holes. Call out road hazards to help bike friends stay safe. 2nd Fridays are MMR - later night vibes to make it to Midnight Mystery Ride. If you want to lead a ride just ask! REPEAT… NOT NECESSARILY A NO DROP RIDE… ESPECIALLY IN THE FALL/WINTER/SPRING. Guest ride leaders wanted and appreciated! Instagram @fridaynightride

Fri, Jun 26, 2026, 7:00 PM
Meet at 7, Ride at 7:30
9:45 PM
Ride is a loop
Ride length: 8-15 miles
In 2011, a Cartoon Network exec introduced two rappers who had no business knowing each other: El-P, a Brooklyn underground lifer with a decade of weird, dense production behind him, and Killer Mike, an Atlanta heavyweight who first showed up on an Outkast record. They clicked instantly. After collaborating on each other's solo albums and touring together, they made it official — borrowed a name from an old LL Cool J track and dropped their self-titled debut for free on June 26, 2013. Critics lost their minds. Four albums later, Run the Jewels is one of the most beloved rap acts of the last decade, with a fist-and-pistol logo recognized worldwide and a discography that hasn't cost a single fan a single dollar. To mark 13 years since RTJ1 hit the internet, we're rolling through Portland with the full catalog playing front-to-back, in order, no skips. All four albums plus Meow the Jewels — the cat-noise remix of RTJ2 that started as a Kickstarter dare and ended up an actual record. Roughly 3.5 hours of music. Plan accordingly. The BIKESxBEATS sound trailer will be in tow with all the bass you can handle. Come dressed in RTJ-coded fits — chains, shades, gold, whatever you've got. Cat ears recommended for the back half. We'll roll at a social pace over ~10-12 mostly flat miles with regroups so nobody gets dropped, plus a store stop midway for snacks and water. Bring lights — we'll be out past sundown. One thing to flag: if you flat or have a mechanical, we won't be able to hold the ride for repairs, so come with a plan to get yourself home if something goes sideways. Fists up. ✊

6:00 PM
End location: Burlington Beach in St. Johns
Ride length: 8-15 miles
The Leif Erikson Trail is one of Portland's secret summer gems. 12 miles of bicycling on a shaded, north-facing forest road. It's a great place to be naked if you want cool shady conditions, and few onlookers. This is one of the nicest rides in all of Portland. Particularly in July, as it is nice if it's hot, average, cool, or even drizzly. It's a steep climb up to Thurmon St to get to the trailhead, but from the start location for 12 miles to Germantown Road it's only moderately hilly, as the road mostly follows the contour lines. There is a proposal to cut down a large swath of forest for a new powerline corridor. We'll bring body paint for protest slogans on our bodies, and we'll be stopping to enjoy the beautiful section of forest that is slated for clearcutting. Packed gravel with rocks. It can be done on road bikes, but more comfortable with wider tires. Notes: If the forecast is for steady rain or other unpleasant weather for nakedness, we may cancel the ride. Cancellations will be posted by 11:59 pm the night before the night before the ride. We are also doing a 8:00 am ride, an 11:00 ride, a 6:00 pm ride and 8:30 pm naked rides, check the shift2bikes calendar for details! It's summer! The moon is big! It might be hot! We still have a great constitution! There are still lots of things wrong in our world. Let's ride/protest naked! Pre-full moon naked ride. Two days before the full moon is a large, bright moon that comes up 2 hours before sunset. So instead of rolling on the full moon, we're doing the Waxing Gibbous. Protesting car dominance. And having a good time! Past Tire and crew led full moon rides for about 11 years, we have now shifted to Waxing Gibbous. We're formally protesting the lack of safe bikeways in Portland. We'll have short protests with dancing and chants at ODOT and PBOT downtown. You are encouraged to protest any and all issues important to you! (We'll have body paint) We keep the ride a safe space for all participants. All bodies and level of nakedness welcome. Request no cameras by ride participants. **Ride may be cancelled if forecast is for steady rain or other harsh weather. We will update by 11:59 pm Friday June 26 if we are cancelling due to rain.**

Vera Brosgol
Sun, Jun 28, 2026, 8:00 AM
meet at 8am, ride at 8:30.
Ride length: 8-15 miles
Get your gluten AND your glutes on! A morning tour of some of Portland's best sourdough bread bakeries. We'll meet in the miasma under the Franz bread sign to get in the mood, then ride through SE Portland and NE Portland ending at the King Farmer’s Market for a picnic on the lawn. I'll get a loaf from each bakery, but please bring some $$ to support the bakers and/or contribute bread or spread to share! Extra points if you baked it yourself. The ride is not a loop, under ten miles for the whole shebang. No-drop, social pace, but we'll limit stops to 20 min (so maybe don't order a complicated sandwich). If you want to stay longer (maybe you really want that complicated sandwich) you can catch up at the next bakery. Helpful but not necessary for picnic time: blanket, knives, cutting boards, spreaders/spoons.

Family Friendly
Sun, Jun 28, 2026, 10:00 AM
Meet at 9:30, ride at 10
Ride is a loop
Ride length: 3-8 miles
Please join us for the most family friendly ride of this summer hosted by Rachael of PDX Dinorama/PDX Sidewalk Joy and PDX: NakedHearts. The ride will meet at Grant Park at 9:30am and we will ride at 10 promptly. The ride is a loop and will be around 5.5 miles stopping at many installations in the Irvington area ending back at Grant Park's playground. There will be a lot of stops so please keep that in mind; the point is to enjoy all these unique installations that make Portland so amazing! If the ride is large it may be hard to enjoy each stop to the fullest, but we will do our best to make sure everyone gets to see and hear about each one while keeping on schedule. You can expect a mellow pace with a lot of regrouping as well to make sure everyone is together and safe. The stewards of most of these sidewalk joy installations will be home to greet us which is so special! If you have speakers, please bring them and join our jam or play only family friendly music while respecting keeping space riding between speakers. If you came last year you may remember how HOT it was! The route is shorter this year with less stops. To be prepared for the fun here are some things you can bring: small toys/figurines, quarters (at least 2!), toy cars/car related trinkets, keychains, stickers Please be sure to bring plenty of water and any snacks you and your kids may need; these can be enjoyed at any of the stops :) Safety first and fun second! If you are attending please keep in mind this is a family friendly event so we ask that you do not partake in any alcohol or smoking before, during or after while around the group. We will need people to cork; if you are willing to help please check in with anyone in a pink vest/ride leader Nichole before the ride so we can go over expectations with you. You will need to ride in front and precork and we expect anyone corking to practice non violence to keep the group safe. If you have not spoken to us about corking please refrain from doing so. If you are a banned rider you are 100% not welcome on this ride and we will be following the Shift code of conduct. You can view the route here: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/55623914

Do you like zines? Of course you do, Portland loves zines. Whether you make 'em, or read 'em, or just like to look at them this ride is for you. Bring some zines of your own creation, or just a few you're willing to part with and trade and then go for a ride, stopping at a few locations that have fostered the zine community (there's a lot so I'm just choosing a few). The idea is to trade, but if you're inclined to sell them (after all, time, effort, and work go into these) that's OK too. We will start with a meet up at Laurelhurst Park at the picnic area on the North side of the park (closer to SE Ankeny St) to do the trade/swap/what-have-you at 12:00pm and then depart around 1:00pm to ride out to the Microcosm store, Secret Room, and conclude with a tour of Portland's zine mecca: the Independent Publishing Resource Center (or IPRC for short). This will be the release of Hex zine #3 as well, a more music-based zine, as well as the accompanying free side-zine, Portland Is a Bike Gang (a free comic zine, which will only be for this ride!) Safety tip: don't read zines while you ride. There will be time for that after the ride.

A ride to make your stand. We ride up a big hill. Then, choose your inconsequential stance* and deliver a 90 second stump speech on it. We all vote on the best inconsequential stance and it wins an inconsequential prize. We all picnic and enjoy the sunset from the hill, feeling smugly vindicated about a completely pointless opinion. *This cannot be something actually important. It has to be something truly of no consequence like "The best spoon for cereal is the tiny spoon" or "the correct pronunciation of gif" or "a hot dog is a sandwich" or "Riley was actually the best boyfriend for Buffy".

Bike a bit, then dance
James Atkin's Unbelievable Schubert Dip
Sun, Jun 28, 2026, 7:00 PM
7:30 PM - 10:30 PM
Ride is a loop
90s dance and pirate radio rave anthems from across the pond: KLF, EMF, Utah Saints, 808 State, The Prodigy, The Shamen, Underworld, K-Klass... Ride to park dance spot. Meet at 7, ride at 7.30, bike for a bit, then we park disco to 10.30pm. We ride for a bit listening to 90s dance and pirate radio rave anthems but then at our first and final stop we'll get the euphoric beats going and your body moving. This is more dance than ride. No store stop, bring your own supplies. Dress as a saint from Utah, or a prodigy, or a shaman. This ride takes us back to times before internet takeover and social media puffed up egos, drained souls and wiped out humor. Simpler, better times. Those that were there were lucky to be there, and those who weren't, can be there now on this ride. This is not a ride for those who take themselves seriously. If you haven't done a Park Disco before, you haven't lived.

Meet at 7:30, depart at 8.
10:30 PM
End location: A mystery!
Ride length: 3-8 miles
Did you know that on the night of the full moon, sunset is usually right before the moon rise? Let's hit up a spot where we can watch both! Stock up on snacks and libations before meeting up, then depart on a chill, slow-ish paced 5-mile (give or take) ride to our mystery destination. Ride not a loop. Lights, layers, and a picnic blanket are good ideas. Extra credit if you bring a telescope or good binoculars to observe the moon. Please note: THERE IS NO STORE STOP. There are markets near the ride start, so go there beforehand. There should be open bathroom(s) at the end. Also: RIDE NOT A LOOP, we end where we stop. If you need help getting back to the start, let me know. Rest assured, we will still be in "civilization" where we end, with Tri-Met service nearby. And most importantly: THIS IS A GOOD CONDITIONS RIDE. Clouds, rain, smoke, and excessive heat may cancel the ride. Check the Shift calendar on the day of ride for confirmation. Sunset 9:03 pm, moonrise 9:30 pm.

We did this noble cause ride before: Bring a dead laptop and we bring it to life right in front of you. We also help you wipe/crush your hard drive right in front of you. We bring the tools and let you take the same tools home. We haul "ALL DEAD" stuff to Freegeek for you or with you Wednesday 11am to 4pm. We might even get a special tour . Bring a blank USB thumb drive and we will wipe that clean and give you something that will boot open source to 3 different open source operating systems and make you able to wipe or factory reset other computers down the road. We teach you to fish. Heck, we might even be able to do the same for a desktop if you do all the hauling. There is power at the carts. Optional: bring thumb drives, bring a cargo bike or trailer. We might do this more often in the summer. We are masking friendly and whole thing is outdoors. Bring kids. We want to teach all ages how to save the planet from cars and other stuff. For all you tree lovers and tree-curious out there, this will be a casual-paced 9-mile ride through a selection of tree-lined SE Portland streets and parks, with several brief stops to admire notable trees and share facts. I'm an amateur so yeah, if you know awesome tree facts you can absolutely chime in. Ride start and stop will be within a half mile of each other. Meet at 5:30, depart at 6 PM.
8:30 PM
End location: Near 122nd Ave MAX stn.
Ride length: 3-8 miles
Sometime in the middle 19th century, stone mile markers were placed along the length of what became SE Stark St. From the Willamette to the Sandy River, these milestones helped travellers navigate what was once a "wild" area. Over the years these markers were largely forgotten, yet miraculously over half still remain! We'll take a leisurely bike tour to see the markers that still remain from MP2 to MP7. Ride is not a loop but will end near the SE 122nd MAX Station on the Blue Line. After the ride ends there will be an option for interested folks to get food and libations. BONUS: Get a copy of the Stark St. Mileposts Zine for the sliding scale price of $6-8. You DO NOT have to buy the zine to participate in the ride.

Gather at 7pm, Ride at 7:30pm
Ride length: 8-15 miles
Metalheads: gather at Oregon Park on Wednesday, July 1st for one of the heaviest rides of the year, celebrating the most brutal genre of music - Death Metal! This will be a shorter version than the 2025 edition. THEME: Death Metal! This ride will be set to a soundtrack of death metal, with tracks from its' origins to the present. Expect a playlist of old school, brutal, technical, progressive, cosmic, cavernous, grinding, slamming, gore-soaked death metal (although probably no deathcore, sorry!). Break out your best battle jacket/vest or other death metal gear for this ride. This is a curated playlist, so synced sound systems are welcome but please refrain from conflicting sounds/bringing your own playlist. ROUTE: Route will be about 10-11 miles with a store stop, taking roughly 2ish hours in total. Ride may or may not be a loop, but won't end more than a mile from the start point. This will be a social-paced, no-drop ride moving at about 8-12mph. All wheels welcome. While the route won’t be posted beforehand, feel free to ask the ride leader about specifics at Irving Park or the store stop if you have questions. Similar to a live metal show, the music will be loud; we’ll have some earplugs on hand, but we ask that you refrain from bringing pets on this ride. See you in the pit!

Cornell Will Be Swell! WWR takes on Cornell! This is a fantastic route that gets steep real quick in the west hills, climbing 1400' over 5-6 miles. The grade goes up to 15%, but is never sustained, we will regroup after each steep section. Why bother? A killer hill bomb down Thompson and Cornell into Portland with a couple tunnels thrown in to boot. Ride will end at Wallace Park in NW! Total distance is ~13 miles and there is a spot to refill water along the way. Bring lights and legs!
