Gateway Green Explorations! Join us for a tour of this great off road cycling and mountain biking destination within Portland's city limits! Our leaders will give you a friendly introduction to the park for curious, beginning, and intermediate mountain bikers. We’ll meet at Gladys Bikes on Alberta, ride 5+ miles to GG, and practice a few skills before checking out the trails and skills area, and jump lines according to your comfort level. The ride leaders are from NWTA Trails Sisters and the Glady-ators bike team. Riders of all ages, gender identities and expressions are welcome. Please note that the route includes a 5+ mile ride on pavement from Gladys Bikes to Gateway Green. Best for mountain bikes, cyclocross bikes, and bikes with wide, knobby tires. Check out Evo, Gladys, Fat Tire Farm, Cyclepath and other bike shops in advance to rent or borrow an appropriate bike if needed. Tiny shredders are welcome, but please consider how they'll do on the 5+ mile ride from Gladys to Gateway Green. Please bring your helmet to wear while riding in the dirt. Also, it gets chilly as the sun sets, so be sure to bring your warmth and your lights for your ride home! Meet 5:30, roll at 6pm sharp. Ride is not a loop/will end at Gateway Green. Return route suggestions gladly given.
