Meet at 9am. Take MAX at 9:30 to Hillsboro. Ride ~40miles out and back to Manning Trailhead and Buxton Trestle. Return via MAX to Portland by 4:30
The Salmonberry Trail is Oregon’s next great adventure and we’ve kicked it off by renovating the Manning Trailhead, the project’s eastern gateway. Come learn about this future trail that will connect the Willamette Valley to the Oregon Coast while riding bikes with some of the Salmonberry Trail Foundation’s staff and board. We’ll be riding the MAX from Portland to Hillsboro and biking from the end of the Blue line to Manning along some back roads and the Banks-Vernonia Trail. We’ll have lunch in Buxton and bike home the way we came. The ride is family friendly and we welcome all riders! // ITINEARY // 9am @ Fehrenbacher Hof near Goose Hollow MAX Station * 9:30 Board Blue line to Hillsboro’s Hatfield Station * 10:05am: 16mi to Manning * (Optional: ~3.5mi to Buxton Trestle) * 12pm: LUNCH * 1pm: 16-20mi back to Hillsboro * 3:15pm MAX to PDX * 4-4:30pm back in Portland. // THINGS TO BRING // Lunch, Cash for MAX, Supplies: Helmet, Patch Kit, pump, extra layers, 2 liters of water, snacks.
