    Loop Ride is a loop

Celebrate the COOLEST winter holidays in the HOTTEST season of the year! Wear a costume. Sing carols at the top of your lungs. Make pedestrians & drivers do a double-take, drop their jaws, and say, "Whaaaaaa..!?" Ride leader will bring a 150-watt sound system on a trailer, but feel free to BYOM. System has bluetooth so y'all can take turns playing the music you like. Default playlist has Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and Christmas songs. Free ice-cold drinks will be provided. At ride's end we'll hand out prizes for best costume and best-decorated bike. In previous years we've seen a Christmas tree & wreath on a trailer and beanie-baby dragons wearing custom-made Christmas hats, and had riders dressed as Santa, elves, and that awesome character "Jack" from "The Nightmare Before Christmas," not to be confused with the real human named Jack who leads the "Hi-Viz - Bright Ride" -- he'll likely also lead the "Halloween in June" ride at the same time as this one. His Halloween ride always duels with our Winter Holidays ride, but in a good way. On that note, feel free to dress as a reindeer and bellow "Monster Mash", or maybe dress as that super-scary girl from "The Ring" and screech "Jingle Bells". Meet at Ladd's Circle at 1 pm and decorate your bike. As usual, I'll bring snow spray, holiday stickers, tinsel, etc. We'll meet with the "Halloween Ride" group and both groups will ride together starting at 1:30 pm. We'll do a loop that's just under 8 miles long, all at an easy pace, with short stops at Holladay Park, Grant Park, and Laurelhurst Park, ending back at Ladd's. ==> If you plan to attend, feel free to text so I can get a head count and get enough drinks for everyone.
