Meet at 4:00pm, ride at 4:30pm
Ride is a loop
Let's practice putting our bikes on the bus! Multi-modal bike+bus trips open up a world of possibilities and access to places far away, exhaustingly hilly, and otherwise hard to reach. PSU is allowing us *EXCLUSIVE ACCESS* to their Transportation Information Center demonstration rack where we can practice one by one. Get in the mood by perusing TriMet's How to Load Your Bike on the Bus photo tutorial: https://trimet.org/bikes/bikesonbuses.htm and watching this awesome video from PBOT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-dzYFaW13M If music videos are more your thing, rock out to I Put My Bike On The Bus (but know our hooks are easier than those ones!): https://youtu.be/boiQKDHq7nk We'll start with a pleasant two-mile ride across Tilikum Crossing ("The Transit Bridge") and upon arrival learn about PSU's active transportation efforts and how we community members can be involved (such as visiting their free bike repair station). WEAR A MASK--THE DEMONSTRATION RACK IS INDOORS. Also bring: any fun bus or bus+bike stories to share! We'll bring an extra bike you can borrow to lift onto the rack if your own bike does not fit the criteria for racking: * Wheel sizes 20-29 inches * Wheelbase up to 44 inches * Tires up to 2.35 inches wide * 55 pounds and under This ride is a loop and we will return to Ladd Circle when we're done.
