We rolled last year with a skeleton crew, so this is truly the 5th annual BrianEno Music For Airports Ride. Meet in Fernhill Park at 3pm, 4pm roll out. We roll our bikes down to gather on the road and start our music devices with Eno's Ambient 1 album from 1978, or a Bang On A Can version. No synchronization, sloppy 1 2 3 GO! start gives us a delay effect, instead of clashing drum beats with lots of common party rides. Ambient music doesn't clash as easy, it's meant to fade into the background, or as Eno says Ambient music is also interesting to listen to. The busy chaos of airports for this world class artist inspired his Taurus Sun to create some chill vibes in sound. So we ride our bikes with this album looping, all around in and out of the Portland International Airport, stopping mid ride, or end for some people, at the airport terminal. Then we change to one sound system playing one album and select other Eno related compositions as we ride down to Broughton Beach by way of Marine Drive trail for a late afternoon fade into evening beach picnic. Pack for the picnic on your way to the ride. No store stop. Scant availability, not gonna take the ride to Ikea.
