This is a ride I inherited from past leaders, going back I don't know how long. I picked it up round 2 years ago after two years collaborating with the previous leader. The concept is a vow of silence that begins at the start point after a short simple ritual, or sequence of instructions. It ends when I blow my flute at the end spot, which will either be in Portland or back to Beaverton Transit Center before the last train rolls. Gears highly recommend since the leader may go granny on steep long hills. It's more important than ever to stay behind the leader on this ride, or you may get lost where things are strange as I make an improvised move. Not talking affords more attention to the nuance of other senses. Narrow side tracks and multiple textures of riding surface, grand and beautiful vistas are a theme of this ride, as well as hills. No store stop, continuous ride for two hours, mid ride 5 minutes piss break.
