North Portland in Motion is an planning effort to identify transportation needs and near-term investments to improve access to community destinations and support walking, biking, and transit use in the North Portland peninsula. Join neighbors and PBOT staff for a Kickoff Ride starting this planning process that will define how folks access Transit, walk and roll in your neighborhood for the next generation. Get a snapshot of how people move around the Peninsula now and envision how people can move around the Peninsula tomorrow! We will take a Spin around the Peninsula, staring at Overlook, heading up to St Johns where we'll take a break before heading back to Overlook by way of Kenton. Check out the map of the ride! Each color represents one 'leg' of the ride. Between each leg we'll take a brief pause for people to join up or peel off in the neighborhoods. Through North Portland in Motion, PBOT will: Engage deeply with North Portlanders to understand transportation needs and barriers to meeting daily mobility needs. Identify a near-term prioritized investment strategy of projects and programs to improve conditions for walking, biking, and transit. Build new relationships with community-based organizations to represent the diverse neighborhoods and communities within North Portland.
