    Loop Ride is a loop

Technically singletrack started as a pandemic joke for me, calling every footpath "technically singletrack." Then I noticed that I can connect a footpath to an unpaved alley to an unimproved roadway to make routes around Portland. These routes are fun and often circuitous ways to get around and get away from pavement. This route is about 20 miles and winds its way through Woodstock, Errol Heights, both Morelands and whatever neighborhoods both sections of the Springwater are. I may make last minute route changes (for example, lots of Errol Heights is fenced off; construction in/near Lovejoy Fountain Park). We can make snack stops if needed but I don't have any planned. My goal for this ride is to show an alternate view of Portland, to see it not through car-centric infrastructure but through side entrances, wallpapered-over windows* and forgotten passages. This route requires a little humor and a willingness to expand your definition of "singletrack." I have other routes in different parts of Portland, and even variations of this route. I'd like to see more people make and share "technically singletrack" routes here and elsewhere. Sharon is Karen. THIS IS NEITHER A RACE NOR A PARTY RIDE. This is a fun no-drop cruise that has a few narrow and twisty parts but is mostly wide open. Take a look at the Ride with GPS route so you get an idea of where we're going. Feel free to pre-ride it or maybe you'll see something I missed. *We're not actually riding through windows, unfortunately.
