Does Shakespeare make you happy? Do you want to dress up like you are going to a Renn Faire and listen to Renaissance / Shakespeare / Fantasy / Theatre themed tunes? Join us for a ride to Portland's own Shakespeare in the park show, hosted for free by Original Practice Shakespeare Festival. Bring your own blankets, snacks, food and beverages to picnic at the end location. Extra points for dressing up in Elizabethan, Medieval, Fantasy or other fancy dress. We will be heading to Cully Park to see "The Tempest", starting at 7 pm, so we will leave Irving Park at 5:45 to arrive around 6:30 in Cully to picnic. You can stay for the show, which is free to the public and ends by 10 pm, or head back downtown to join the Thursday Night ride. Ride is 4.5 miles, not a loop but ends near Trimet, and the ride leader can take you back to the Going greenway if you are heading back west to the start Playlist: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/20dKVLYzCHlAmLPUPosvsV?si=ecd0fa25d4ce4e60 Original Practice Shakespeare Festival: https://www.opsfest.org - there are shows Thu/Fri/Sat/Sun in July and August. This year there may be more added in September. Heat warning: It is possible the play may be rescheduled if the temperature will be over 95 degrees at 7pm. In that case the ride will also have to be delayed to whenever the show is rescheduled, probably the first week of September.
