End location: Shop at the Milwaukie Farmer's Market after the ride!
Starting and ending at Milwaukie City Hall (and across from the Milwaukie Farmer's Market!), this 5.15 mile loop will explore some of the city of Milwaukie's Greenways and other bike/ped infrastructure. The route is relatively flat with some small, gradual climbs. The route will explore the following segments: * SE 29th Avenue Greenway - North Ardenwald project in planning phase for bike/ped improvements to small, northern most piece of the greenway * SE Harvey Street - In the planning phase for a new redesign * SE 43rd - Brand new bike/ped path in 2022 * SE 40th Ave * SE Monroe St Greenway - Central and Western segments slated for substantial improvements in coming years * Trolley Trail and SE 17th Path - Bike/ped path * Springwater Trail Corridor - Bike/ped path About half of the riding will occur on bike/ped trails. The other half will occur on streets that have lower traffic volumes, but may not have bike lanes, sharrows, speed bumps, or be controlled by stop signs. Crossings at higher volume streets like 32nd, King Road, Harrison Street, Monroe Street, Hwy 224 (signalized), McLoughlin Blvd (signalized), and SE 17th could feel a little stressful if you were riding alone, but should feel very safe riding in a group.
