End location End location: Johnson Creek City Park

Brooks of England, makers of fine bike saddles and bags, is one of the most venerable cycle companies having been established in 1866. In England they have the Brooks Picnic Ride that goes from the factory in Birmingham to the former estate of company founder J.B. Brooks in Blackwell Court. At the end spot riders have a picnic on the grounds of the estate. This five-mile Pedalpalooza ride is a Portland version of that ride transplanted to the bikeways of our city. This is also a BikeLoud PDX affiliated event, and the route will partially follow a brand-new bike route. The end spot of the Portland ride will be a grassy area with shade where you can spread out a blanket and have a picnic adjacent to two brooks (get it?). Drinking water and restrooms are at the end spot, and a MAX station is not too far away. This a bring-your-own-picnic event, but we will have free scones for everyone on the ride. Why scones? Watch this short video of the ride in England to find out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfGLtK6E-9c This ride is for everyone interested in Brooks products whether or not you presently have a Brooks saddle. Come on the ride to find out why many riders prefer these saddles that shape themselves to provide an exact fit to the rider. Brooks riders will often opine that you "sit on" a plastic saddle while you "sit in" a Brooks saddle. If you already have a Brooks saddle or bag, by all means, come on the ride. We love to spread the word on these fine products!
