... Did Pedalpalooza riders visit every taco shop and eat all the tacos in PDX over the course of just 1 day? The inaugural Reign of Taco Ride did it's very best to facilitate it. Has your team triumphed over all? Now is the time to come hang out with fellow taco lovers and celebrate. The Reign of Taco Awards ceremony and wrap-up event takes place 2 days after the dust has settled on our official day long event. We will have run all the numbers and decided who is worthy of additional distinction. So please feel invited to join us for fun and to meet some other riders too. ... As you know, tacos are the best and we love them. All told Portland Oregon is fortunate to have hundreds of taco shops and the people who make them. Each shop has it's own menu of tacos on offer which means there are literally thousands of tacos available in locations liberally distributed throughout all 6 quadrants of our city. every. single. day. So the Reign of Taco Ride asked you to show up and show appreciation for the glorious tacos and taco makers by riding out to buy tacos. Our web wizard Adam Novotny assembled a comprehensive list of locations and developed a team oriented interactive online taco map https://tacoapp.verynice.party/ and the clever Karl Freitag launched a Discord server to make sure people were able to communicate with each other and send us feedback https://discord.gg/DxJa4ePE This ride was unique in that it lasted all day Tuesday June 6th but did not have a meet-up location, a planned ride map nor a place to return to at the end of your ride. We were hoping that you'd use the tools we developed to self organize. Now that all the points are tallied it's time for teams to be awarded and mighty feats of taco eats to bask in the light of public adoration. No normal Pedalpalooza ride could ever hoped to visit every possible taco location. Organized chaos was the only way to eat the incredible array of fantastic food. Hopefully a whole squadron of self propelled taco lovers has now realized this collective a'chomp'lishment. Now it's time to hear about the many tasty moments of maximum taco satisfaction. ... all the links can be found https://linktr.ee/reign_of_taco_ride ... Bike Portland says "Each year there’s at least one new ride that captures our imagination. This year I’m very intrigued by the Reign of Taco Ride (6/6) created by the inimitable Joshua Force. With substantial contributions from Karl Freitag he has dreamed up a one-day plan to have bike riders fan out and order at least one taco from every single taco joint in the region. Another member of the taco crew, Adam Novotny, collected an exhaustive list of every taco joint in the city for the location of each cart and cafe. Then he created an interactive taco map with an ability for participants to log in and track their purchases. What an amazing way to celebrate cycling and tacos!" https://bikeportland.org/2023/05/30/21st-annual-pedalpalooza-kicks-off-thursday-at-alberta-park-375541
