Ride is a loop
Nature is so very gaaaay! Celebrate and learn about the queerness of flora, fauna, and fungi on this leisurely ride that will feature several stops for educational mini-lectures from local experts. From homosexual dolphins to gender-bending amphibians and asexual mushrooms, we'll be embracing the natural diversity of the natural world. Take notes because we'll end with trivia questions (and prizes!). COSTUME CONTEST! Come dressed as your favorite plant or animal. Route details: This is a luxurious and leisurely ride where no one will be left behind. Like many critters, we will be staying away from car-heavy streets as much as possible. Our loop is roughly eight miles, mostly on off-street bike paths. We'll be biking from Ladd's Circle down the Springwater Corridor, over the Sellwood Bridge, along the west-side waterfront bike path, and back over the Hawthorne Bridge to end in Ladd's Circle. We'll be stopping for lectures, surprises, and delights at several points along the way. Feel free to bring snacks and drinks! Kids: Juvenile and baby animals are totally welcome on this ride! We didn't mark this ride as "family friendly" because some of the talks will be about sexuality. Use your judgement about whether your youthful critters would be mortified or excited to hear about things like the astounding diversity of genitalia in the world.
