    Pedal a short easy tour of Portland's five levels of government and some of their meeting locations. Learn how Portland is governed and how to get involved with public meetings, advocacy campaigns, ballot initiatives, elections, or other ways to participate. Sign the STAR Voting 2024 petition and learn how else you can help get this game-changing measure onto next year's state ballot. STAR Voting is an innovative voting method for more representative elections. Instead of being limited to picking just one candidate, you can score as many candidates as you like, showing your preference order and your level of support for the options. STAR Voting empowers voters to express their views and opinions more accurately, ensures that voters are able to vote their conscience without wasting their vote, combats polarization, and does a better job at electing winners who actually represent the will of the people. Enjoy a casual group ride and chat with STAR Voting volunteers about why STAR is different from other voting methods, how elections can be tools for understanding majority opinion and consensus-building, and what lets STAR elections cut through the gotchas that keep us trapped in a two-party system.
