We're blessed to live in the eye of the fresh hop storm. And indeed, most Oregon breweries leverage their close proximity to the freshly-harvested wet hops from our northern neighbor Washington, brewing up the crispest, brightest beers you'll encounter this calendar year. If you didn't know, fresh hops only come available around Labor Day, and it's tough for breweries outside of the north/mountain west to promptly import and brew them. And these beers go fast—typically, it's tough to find them past October 1st, when seasonal taps are turned over to festbiers. Fresh hop beers come in many shapes & sizes! Not just IPAs. In this ride, I expect to encounter a fresh hop amber, golden ale, lager, hazy, pils, and WCIPA. But the taps change quick, so no promises. 3:30 PM—Meet at MIGRATION BREWING (2828 NE Glisan St) 4:30 PM—Arrive at GORGES BREWING (2705 SE Ankeny) / meetup with BikePortland Happy Hour! 5:30 PM—Arrive at LEVEL BEER (1447 NE Sandy) Feel free to meet us at any stop. Pedestrians are welcome, too---the walk from Migration to Gorges is 10 minutes, then the walk from Gorges to Level is 16 minutes. =)
