  • Organizer Ride Westside (with ride leader Mick)

    Time Sun, Sep 24, 2023, 9:00 AM

Time details Meet at 9 a.m., roll at 9:30 a.m.

Did you know you can ride your bike from Beaverton to Portland? There are some big hills involved, but it is definitely doable. Join Mick on this ride for people who have never taken the Hwy 26 multi-use (car-free) path. We'll meet at Pip’s Doughnuts in Beaverton at 9 AM for anyone who wants some donut/chai fuel, then around 9:30 we’ll go through the neighborhoods up the path and climb the hill to the Oregon Zoo then cruise the sweet downhill through beautiful Washington Park and then down Flanders Street to the Willamette River waterfront. From there we can see how we feel. maybe grab lunch downtown, or hop on the MAX with our bikes to come back to the Westside. (If you've never taken your bike on the MAX, this can also be good practice for that.) Mick is pretty slow climbing hills, so there is no chance of anyone getting dropped. Walking your bike in parts is totally fine for your first time. All abilities are welcome, we're in it together! Ride what you have (electric or regular bike), come as you are!
