    Loop Ride is a loop

End location End location: Grassy area under the bridge

This ride is an experiment in collective movement ! Do you have fond memories of the parachute from elementary school? Do you enjoy free form movement expressions that make you laugh? How about just any excuse to get a little bit weird? We need more love! Come open to going beyond tolerance and into kindness, belonging and love. For this ride, we visit grassy parks to explore the COCOON, a sheer, stretchy fabric enclosure. Together inside the Cocoon we merge into the collective membrane, surrendering to the playful, freeing form of expression. The true magic of the Cocoon is the energy stirred up by all the participants inside, to emerge transformed. While there is no particular skill required to perform the Cocoon, it magnetizes the curious and becomes a spontaneous inclusive community. Inside the Cocoon, healing is possible. We hope to engage the Cocoon as an incubator for collective re-imagination and future-building conversations. We are a small group of queer enbies and others intent on creating a playful, inclusive community. While kids love the Cocoon, this is an adult activity because adults need to remember how to play. Haters will be canceled. Contact us if you have any questions! Rides will be the last Sunday of the month with a different loop each time! This is a no-drop ride, Expect a leisurely-paced conversational ride over a total of approx 7-9 miles with a store stop and 2 park visits for cocooning and more cocoon time at the end at the park where we start and finish! Restrooms will be nearby at all park stops. Please note that the Cocoon experience is a HIGH-RISK covid activity. Please do not get inside the cocoon unless you are COVID symptom-free and/or recently tested negative. You may be asked to not participate at the discretion of the organizers of the ride if you are showing COVID symptoms. Please be vaccinated! The Cocoon project was founded in 2010 as an interactive performance art collaborative based in NYC. The collaborative included sound artists, video media artists, musicians, dancers and other movement-based performers and the audience. Join us as we discover what Cocoon PDX wants to be!
