Like bikes and hate factory farms? Well, this is the perfect bike ride for you! We are Food & Water Watch, an environmental organization fighting for clean air, water and a livable climate for all. In Oregon, we're focused on fighting back against the expansion of factory farming across the state! We're hosting a Week of Action from June 23rd to June 28th and decided to kick things off with a community bike ride! We'll meet in Laurelhurst Park at 10 a.m. to chat about our campaign to stop factory farms in Oregon and write postcards to legislators together. Around 10:45, we'll hop on our bikes and ride to King Farmers' Market to support some of our favorite independent farmers! Bike ride will be led by FWW's organizer, Aimee Travis. Join us to kick off a powerful week of action, have some fun, and ride bikes together! About the Week of Action: We are part of the Stand Up to Factory Farms Coalition, and were hosting a Week of Action to mark the six-year anniversary of shutting down the Lost Valley Mega-Dairy. We're sending the message to Governor Kotek and Oregon legislators that more action is still needed to protect Oregon’s communities, environment, family-scale farmers, farm workers, and animals from factory farming.
