This Event is Free and Open to ALL Very simply, very simple. We'll gather at the center of Laurelhurst Park (the the metal sculpture) at 6:00pm and hang out for a wee bit. We'll start the ride at 6:30pm. Your favorite honey-glazed, sun-plumped, perfectly-marbled, raw Kenyan bestie, Brandt Maina | RIOA wa ROE, will read you poems as they lead this casual ride to Lloyd Center. He will make stops in really random (but very safe) spaces along the way. They will read you more poems. 30 little poems to be precise. 30 little gay little liminal little gay poems. He will kiss a pan. Because it's June. And we like to honor June by remembering. RIOA wa ROE will read from Her first ever poetry collection, "resilient joy, a t. table book." It’s like a coffee table book, but for people who only drink tea. On May 23rd, 2021, Brandt Maina walked through their alma mater, a small conservative Christian school in rural Indiana, at 11:11pm and said a final farewell. With the Light on the night of a waxing gibbous Moon, RIOA drifted about taking photos of spaces that seamlessly nurtured and wounded him. These are those poems. The ride will end on the SE corner of the 3rd Floor of Lloyd Center's Garage (entrance on Multnomah St.) From this roof top, Brandt and his sweet wee friends will share readings from their 9 play collection: Succinct Suppositions Play No. 3: MotherDaddy a throbbing gesture of wings wafting at the plight of their near death Saturday June 29th, For those who can't make the Ride Meet us at the SE corner of 3rd Floor of Lloyd Center (on the Multnomah Street Garage) Arrive: 8:00pm Play Reading: 8:38pm This is sweet little Brandt’s midsummer “wyd” text msg to everyone who Loves Portland as much as and even more than we all do Home is a Feeling Clip clop your bike all the way to LaurelHurst and/or Lloyd Center Mall And Yum your Tum with Us The Table is Set “Everyone, Everyone is. . .”
