Meet at 4pm for potluck picnic and ride at 6pm.
Ride is a loop
There's no proper way to say thank you to someone who has devoted so much of their time to creating safe, fun, uplifting and encouraging rides for us in the Portland biking scene. Granted they do it all year round but as you know Moorland schedules NUMEROUS rides on the SHIFT calendar each summer and even though it's now September, we felt that it was a great reason to host a potluck picnic and appreciation ride as a small way of saying thanks! Portland, this is an open invite (as long as you aren't banned) to show up, say thanks and celebrate with us! Everyone of us have enjoyed a smile on our face as we participated in one of the many wonderful and wacky themes that Moorland comes up with and we hope you show up to say thanks with us. We will gather for a potluck picnic at 4pm in Laurelhurst and then we will leave around 6 pm to go on a fun & chill ride that is no more than 8 miles. BiciBuds (Máximo and Bryson will be leading the ride) Route will be shared closer to event. Moorland is the guest of honor so Lady Gertrude will not be providing sound but Rosie (the red heart speaker) will be providing sound on the ride (thanks Moses) with a few other speakers to ensure everyone enjoys this special playlist. Kids are absolutely welcome to attend!! NakedHearts:PDX has provided lots of support to various school bike bus routes! We are calling this a potluck picnic so you can bring something to share or just bring yourself some food. But keep in mind, you don't have to cook anything and even if you don't bring a dish, simply showing up is enough!! (Note: Moorland is vegan and gluten free and has a few other allergies. ) *** Had a few people ask so just to clarify - a potluck picnic in Portland, is much different from a Southern potluck. No one has to share food, because many people have dietary restrictions/ allergies & also germs. We only ask that you show up. You don't have to eat & if you want to share food, that's perfectly okay! Remember, this event about community & gratitude. Your presence is welcome! ***
