In many patriarchal societies, "crone" has often been used as an insult, stemming from the Anglo-French word carogne, meaning “a disagreeable woman.” Yet, scholar Clarissa Pinkola Estés beautifully redefines the crone as “the one who sees far, who looks into the spaces between the worlds and can see what is coming, what has been, and what underlies many things.” Join us for a gathering celebrating the often-overlooked wisdom and joy found in the crone phase of life, coinciding with the waning crescent moon. This is a time to honor this transition's positive attributes and gifts, empowering us to embrace the future with renewed excitement and vigor. We aim to foster a supportive community that extends beyond this event, helping femmes and women navigate what is traditionally seen as a challenging time. We will share valuable information on peri/menopause, engage in simple rituals, and inspire one another to reclaim this phase of life as one of beauty and deliciousness. Given the widespread misinformation and silence surrounding peri/menopause issues, a significant portion of our gathering will focus on this vital topic. An open, inclusive resource list is available for participants. We welcome all femme-identified individuals and those with a uterus—everyone will find a meaningful space to share and celebrate. Dress Code: Witch, please - wear whatever you want. Any outfit that best expresses your hopes for Cronehood is much encouraged. While historically, this day has been typically dry; we recommend bringing rain-ready outerwear just in case. We eagerly anticipate this opportunity to gather in solidarity and joy with you all. Let's celebrate the crone phase of life together! ETA: Ride route has been updated and is listed below.
