Join us for the inaugural PETALpalooza! Ride from Mt Tabor to LEACH BOTANICAL GARDEN. 1. Meet at Mt Tabor community garden grassy area (45.50835, -122.6010) at 3:30, wheels are ROLLING AT 4:00 SHARP DON’T BE LATE. 2. We'll bike to Leach Botanical Garden where we'll get free admission! (Note: you must join the ride to get in for free.) 3. We expect to arrive at ~ 5/5:30. 4. Once we arrive, we’ll be joining the after-hours Moment abstract music event at the Garden. Show up ready to enjoy some abstract music in a beautiful garden! 5. We’ll set up a quiet little picnic there with some light SNACKS PROVIDED. Bring extra food or dinner if you’re a hungry beast. 6. Ride is ~ 8 miles one way to Leach and another ~ 8 miles back to Tabor (if you so join). There’s some mild hills but nothing too crazy. 7. NO DROP RIDE on the way there. The way back will be less organized, if you want us to keep an eye out for you please let a ride leader know. 8. We’ll take a pit stop on the way somewhere with bathrooms, and there are bathrooms at the Garden, too. 9. You know the rules by now: stay home if you’re sickly and contagious :) 10. If the weather forecast is >90 degrees at 4pm, or if the AQI is particularly bad, we will reschedule for heat. What to bring: Water, helmet, sun hat, snacks, sunscreen, electrolytes tablets and anything else you can think of to help support yourselves during a warm ride. It will likely be hot so prepare accordingly. This ride will be led by staff from Leach Botanical Garden and Johnson Creek Watershed Council, along with some rad volunteers. Thank you to NW Natural for funding our ride (and snacks)! P.S. The whole previous week, July 22rd to July 27th, regular admission fees will be waived at the Leach Botanical Garden for anyone who arrives by bike/transit/walk.
