Meet @ 10am, “ride” at 10:30 finish by 1:30pm
End location: Sunnyside Elementary School
Join BikeLoud PDX volunteers and bike powered street sweeper to make a section of our greenway system more safe to navigate by making visible any obstructed rode signage, bike infrastructure, and by making visible potential roadway hazards. It is intended to be the first of two annual rides, one in the spring and one in the fall. I’m open to taking input on where the next ride route should cover. We’ll begin by working to clear organic matter from the pathways immediately around and in the park and then move to the switchback that heads down to the Eastbank Esplanade. From there we’ll head down the Esplanade and then east up Salmon Street greenway. The ride will finish at Sunnyside Elementary School with some vegan and GF food provided. Food and beverages welcome (doesn’t have to be Vegan or GF just communicate to to those you share with to respect each individual’s dietary needs) * Needed items: gloves for removing organic debris, pruning shears, yard waste & trash bags, hand brooms/brooms, dust pans, cargo bikes, bikes with trailers & bikes with saddle bags, baskets or other storage for hauling away what we clean up. This ride is meant to build community while making our roadways more safe. As such we hope to attract community minded folks to join us and will be following the Shift Code of Conduct: https://www.shift2bikes.org/pages/shift-code-of-conduct/
