Laurelhurst Park, SE 33rd Ave & SE Ash St
Just South of the park entrance at 33rd & Ash, is an area surrounded by bushes. It's the coziest spot with a bit of seclusion. Look for bikes & rope.

Meet at 6:30pm. Start tying in the park. Ride at 7:30pm
9:00 PM
Ride is a loop
Meet at a park. Tie rope decoratively over your self and friends. Then we'll ride with the patterns still on! People wear rope for many reasons: it's beautiful, artistic, a connecting activity, to take photos, and/or to get good at knots. We'll start by tying outdoors in the park for an hour. Bring a blanket, your own rope, and all you need for your ties. There's no official class or instruction. Time in the park will be an open "rope jam", time for experimentation, fun, and/or socializing. If you're new to rope, here are two basic patterns that would work for this ride: 1.) hishi karada, the rope dress: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EuPz0tZUjFc&t=4s 2.) chest harness: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUsznt8qNgE Rope rules for biking: Keep the patterns decorative, and loose enough that it's not constricting anything while you ride. No loose ends dangling! We'll take time to ensure there are no dangling loose ends. We'll ride slow, and pull over if anyone has issues with rope coming loose. We'll have a park stop or two along the way, so folks can fix any issues with rope. Ride details: Slow ride, paced for people learning to bicycle. No one will be left behind. This allows time for socializing during the ride. We’ll take greenways and bike lanes, to minimize interactions with drivers… because Portland’s bicycle network is incomplete, there may be short necessary portions of sharing larger roads, and we’ll stay together as a group for safety.
