Meet at 5:30, ride at 6
Ride is a loop
The Gaza Sunbirds are a paracycling team from Gaza who are calling on cyclists around the world to ride with them this weekend in solidarity with Gazans and Palestinian prisoners. We'll be riding not just in solidarity with Palestine, but with oppressed people and prisoners everywhere! Through poetry, music, food, art, and storytelling, we'll get riders engaged with liberation struggles from Palestine to the Philippines, from Oregon to Iran. Meet us at Laurelhurst Park at 5:30 for some speakers. Roll out at 6 and ride along with us to 3 different stops where we'll learn about other causes (and how they're all connected). At the end we'll have food from Vegan Syrian, live screen printing with @Ankh.Inkh.Studios and @Bint.Bandora (bring your own light-colored T-shirt or tote) and a film screening about Palestinian prisoners. Pace will be easy, and no one gets left behind. This ride is being organized/supported by Revolutionary Bicycle Club, the Portland Coalition for Human Rights in the Philippines, Al-Awda PDX, Rainbow Bloc, @Ankh.Inkh.Studios, @Bint.Bandora, and others.
