October 7th marks two years of genocide, and on this day we'll be riding from morning to dusk to honor Palestinian resistance and mourn the 680,000 Palestinians that have been killed by Israel (with bombs and guns manufactured/funded by the US). Our ride will take us to places all over town where acts of solidarity are planned. We'll stop in at businesses listed on Portlandtopalestine.com, ride around playing Palestinian music and chanting, and join up with other orgs for rallies. You can ride with us for the entire day or just for a segment of the ride. We'll share our route/stopping points in advance of the ride so you can choose where you join. SOME THINGS TO KNOW ON OCTOBER 7TH: The United Nations has officially declared this a genocide, as have leading human rights organizations around the world, and it is the responsibility of every person in the world and every government to do everything possible to end the genocide, end apartheid, and support Palestinians in reclaiming their stolen homes. As US citizens we bear extra responsibility for this genocide, as our tax dollars fund it, our politicians back it, and our corporations are getting wealthy from it. Portland itself is deeply complicit: local companies (like Precision Castparts Corps and Leupold & Stevens) manufacture components for Israeli weapons, Intel is partnered with Israeli tech companies who are developing surveillance tech to further terrorize Palestinians, our city and state have large investments in companies on the BDS list, and our senator Ron Wyden is one of the largest recipients of campaign funding from Israel lobby groups (his dehumanizing statements on Palestinians and his dismal voting record bear witness to this). Portland, this is OUR FIGHT! LONG LIVE THE RESISTANCE. Palestine will be free! 🇵🇸🚲🇵🇸🚲🇵🇸🚲🇵🇸
