Meet at noon, ride at 12:30pm.
Ride is a loop
Ride length: 3-8 miles
Knapp Falls is a seasonal waterfall located at a natural area in Southeast Portland. During summer the water flow slows to a trickle, but it is much more substantial in winter. And the falls are raging during and just after atmospheric river events like we have been having for the last few days. This 7-mile loop ride visits the falls and also goes by the recently completed West Lents Floodplain Restoration Project. That project restored a portion of the Johnson Creek floodplain, and the area was dry when we had a group ride there this past summer. But it should be flooded with water now, given all the rain that has been falling. This ride mostly follows neighborhood greenways and dedicated bike paths. The falls are visible from the road, so no hiking is required. Come and see Knapp Falls before it starts to go dry this spring!
