This is the official ride that kicks off the festivities every year. Here’s what we have lined up: - Bike Groups: Hear short speeches from local organizations and regular ride leaders - Merch Sales and Pick Up: Get yer hands on merch you’ve already purchased in the first Pre Order, try on shirts to decide what you’d like to order by the end of the 2nd Pre Order (which ends June 8th), or purchase pennants and stickers on site. We’ll have volunteers there to help you affix your pennant to your bike - Ride Leader Pennant Hand Out: Leading a ride this year? Get your complimentary hand-sewn and hand printed Ride Leader Pennant - Poster Distribution: We’ll have posters on hand for those who want to help us get them all over the city - DJ: Music at the start (DJ Enso!) and end parks - Bike Maintenance: Long time volunteer John Carter will be there wrenching on bikes along with the PDX Brake Room - a brand new DIY bike maintenance group - Absurdity: Risk of Change will be roaming, delighting us with a little levity - Live Music: Unpresidented Brass Band will send us off - Family and Skate Friendly Route: This year’s route was developed by a dad and kid duo with the support of Kidical Mass and the skate community - Keeping it Clean: Trash Witch will be on site collecting recyclables and trash - Spreading the Word: PDXWNBR will be at the end spot telling people about their ride. All Bodies on Bikes will be handing out free ride guides and other goodies. You are also invited to spread the word about your events! Bring fliers, dress to represent your ride, etc. - Picnic: Bring food and a blanket so you can hang and watch the sun set at the end spot Volunteers on site will help affix pennants to bikes. We'll have Ride Leader pennants to give away, first come, first served, just show us your ride listing on the calendar. If you are able to cork the ride, please let us know.
