Ahoy ⚓! Set sail with us on June 13th for the 3rd annual Everything Under the Sun Parade! ☀️❤️ Taking artistic inspiration from large-scale puppetry 🪼, the parade is a people-powered 🫂 celebration of radical joy 😇 that reclaims the creative power of ordinary people 👯 to sculpt a just future ⛰️🌬️🌲🌊. This is a family-friendly event and young ones are encouraged to join. Join the fun by bringing your own puppet! No puppet 👀? No problem 🙂 - we aren't joining the parade this year so anyone can join the fun and ride along to spectate. 🎭 What kind of puppets r we talkin? Here are some creative ideas: googley eyes on a sock 🧦 Pipe cleaners with googley eyes on a stick (wormz) 🐍 Papier mache shrimp helmet?? 🦐 Cardboard cutout on a stick 🐟 The route begins at Abernethy Elementary basketball courts 🏀. We will ride the Springwater Corridor to the intersection of Milwaukie & Bybee 🍻 to watch the parade. The ride officially ends here and you are free to spectate from anywhere else along the route 🤓. There is one teeny-tiny segment of dirt we will use to connect the springwater to surface streets - don't worry about it, you'll be fine, consider it part of the adventure ⚡👻👽.
