Bike a bit, then dance
Sam Ryder's Juice Blender
Sun, Jul 12, 2026, 7:00 PM
7:30 PM - 10:30 PM
Ride is a loop
Northern Soul classics originated in Detroit and Chicago, and were popularized in northern England in the 1960s. Old white label records were given a new lease of life the other side of the planet. Ride to park dance spot. Meet at 7, ride at 7.30, bike for a bit, then we park disco to 10.30pm. Northern Soul classics, mixed with contemporary songs in the same style (John Newman's Love Me Again, Fitz and The Tantrums' Breakin' The Chains of Love, Sam Ryder's Heartland, James Emmanuel's Good Man), but then at our first and final stop we'll get the hits going so you can shake a leg in a pre-breakdance style. This is more dance than ride. No store stop, bring your own supplies. Dress as a golden torch, a ghost in someone's house, or a good man. This ride takes us back to times before internet takeover and social media puffed up egos, drained souls and wiped out humor. Simpler, better times. Those that were there were lucky to be there, and those who weren't, can be there now on this ride. This is not a ride for those who take themselves seriously. If you haven't done a Park Disco before, you haven't lived.
