Read more about WeBike: thestreettrust.org/webike If you're curious about bike camping (maybe you're planning your first overnighter? Thinking about riding your bike to an event like Pickathon this summer?), or if you're a seasoned bike camper who wants to meet people with similar interests, then this clinic is for you! Come hang out with us in Laurelhurst Park to learn all the ins and outs of bike camping, including food, gear, route finding, and more. Even if you’ve been to a WeBike bike camping clinic before, you’ll want to come to this one, too. That’s because we have a special guest presentation planned about all things FOOD! How to cook while camping, how to craft a meal with as few ingredients as possible, even how to forage for cool things like seaweed and moss. You’ll leave this clinic with handy packing lists, resource flyers, and plenty of new meal ideas. Find us at Picnic Table E, close to the restrooms off of Ankeny St. Coming by bus? Take TriMet route 20 to E Burnside & Laurelhurst and then head one block south into the park or TriMet route 75 to SE Cesar Chavez Blvd & Ash and follow the path around the north side of the lake to find us. About WeBike: WeBike is The Street Trust’s program to inspire more trans people of all genders, gender non-conforming people, Two Spirit, and women (both trans and cis) to incorporate a bike into their lives and use biking as a way to meet their transportation needs and personal goals. We aim to dismantle the barriers of cycling through rides, knowledge-sharing events, meet and greets, and mentorship. The WeBike-Portland private Facebook group is a resource, hub, and a way to connect with others riding in the area. If you have any questions about biking or great biking tips you want to share, post them there!
