Still feel too new to join a group ride? Do bike lanes freak you out? Getting back into it and need to build some confidence? Still wobbley when you start but you're excited to get better? Perfect! Come hang with us on the Springwater Trail! It's a pedestrian path away from the road with only a few road crossings. We can stop and walk our bikes across too, no big deal! We'll meet at Main City Park in Gresham, at the giant sign right on the Springwater. It's easy to spot on the map. There is free public parking available in the park. To my knowledge there are bathrooms as well. It's about half a mile from the Gresham Transit Center and there are several bus lines that can drop you off on Powell. We'll leave right at 6pm, so make sure you're there a little early. Important! Please email if you're interested! I'm posting this last minute so if no one contacts me, I'll assume there's no interest and the ride will be cancelled. Email kapowbangzow@gmail.com It's primo blackberry season so if the group wants to stop for berry picking, that's totally legit! We'll head towards Boring, which eventually has a very long, slight uphill, and just cruise for up to an hour so we can be back before the sun goes down. If we make it to Boring it's 11 miles total but turning around early is a welcome option. I'd rather have you come and hang out than not come because you're worried it's too far! Bring water, sunblock, and anything else you'll need to keep the ride going. I'll have tire levers, and hex wrench set, and a mini pump but no extra patch kit, and very little experience fixing a flat. Everyone needs a place to be new, so come out for a chill summer bike ride!
