In 2012, 4 women, as part of the anonymous art collective Pussy Riot, were arrested in Moscow for a 1-minute performance inside the Cathedral of Christ Savior. Their song "Banish Putin" upset the cozy relationship between the Church and State and a harsh punishment was given. Of the four, two are currently serving 2 years in a labor camp for "hooliganism". In solidarity, we tour Portland’s Russian neighborhoods with costumes, Russian Punk and chants. Show them we haven’t forgotten! For more backstory, visit freepussyriot.org.
