Grand depart will be at sunrise but you can show up anytime to participate
Ride is a loop
What time does it start? Whenever you want to show up! but, the grand depart will be at sunrise if you choose to partake. Is there an age restriction? No! all ages are welcome. Do I have to do a whole century?! No! No one ever has... Then why is the ride called a century? Because it sounds good (and that's the ultimate goal). Will there be food or drinks? The ride is self supported so nothing will be provided by the event. however, there will be a chill zone at the bottom gate if you want to bring something to contribute to the vibes. Is this a race? No! But there may be prizes for arbitrary categories. Regardless, come for kudos and valor. Will this be an annual event? No! it is as big of a deal as the olymics and therefore takes place every 4 years. Again, why? Again, why not?!

Starts at about 9, people roll in and out through around 11
We meet at a different park in Portland every Saturday all year morning at about 9 to talk about home repair, travel plans, obscure board games, insects, etymology and sometimes bikes. Coffee Outside is often a meeting or starting point for adventures, day rides, group food cart rides or other outings. Bring a means to make coffee or some sort of coffee-adjacent beverage, or not. Instant chai? Perfect. A canned coffee beverage from the bodega? Legit. A special small batch blend of beans roasted in your neighborhood roastery that you measure by weight (portable scale, naturally) hand-grind in your titanium grinder before making a slow pour-over using hand-made paper filters and perfect temperature water? Sure, go for it. Baked goods are always appreciated but not at all required. Uniform? Nope. Fancy bike? Nope. Racing or ultra bikepacking chops? Nope. We enthusiastically welcome new faces and have no barrier to entry other than being your authentic self and leaving any bad/aggro attitudes at home. We post the location every Thursday on the PDX Coffee Outside website, which our friend Chris updates, and our Instagram account.

Meet at 9:45am, ride at 10am
End location: Heist Food Cart Pod - 4727 SE Woodstock Blvd. Portland, OR 97206
Ride length: 8-15 miles
Join Bike Milwaukie for our October ride starting at Ardenwald Park in Milwaukie and heading to Ladds Addition for some fun loop-de-loops (let's see how good your internal compass is) and through SE Portland to Woodstock for lunch at the Heist food cart pod. The route will be almost entirely on neighborhood greenways and is mostly flat, so it should be a nice and relaxing ride. Bring water, snacks, and a bike lock for the food cart pod. Note: This is not a loop ride, but after lunch there will be several groups heading back to Milwaukie if you'd like to tag along. Bike Milwaukie rides are easy paced with no drops and great for cyclists of all ages. We will note if a monthly ride is more challenging.

Want to attend the protest downtown but don't have a ride? Or perhaps you do but are worried about parking and street closures? A group bike ride is a fun and free way to get downtown from St Johns, get to know your neighbors, and enjoy the lovely fall colors. We'll take a low-stress route from the St Johns Plaza, through North and Northeast neighborhoods, then across the Steel Bridge lower deck to Waterfront Park. End point is the bike racks by Naito Fountain and the Portland Saturday Market (a great place to grab a quick snack!) Additional Info: - Route is about 9.5 miles one-way on mostly residential streets, with N Willamette being the busiest. We'll use signaled crossings for major intersections. - We'll take a relaxed pace and expect to arrive in about 60-75 minutes, with a couple of water breaks along the way. - Feel free to bring signs, banners, etc. I have cargo space if you need help carrying anything. - This ride is not a loop, but please mention if you don't feel comfortable riding back alone and we'll try to arrange for a buddy to return with you. The Springwater Wetlands were recently restored complete with a new multiuse path that goes along the edge of the wetlands. This path also makes for a bike connection between the Springwater Corridor and the neighborhood greenway network to the north. The re-vamped wetlands have proven popular for waterfowl, with ducks, geese, and other species regularly frolicking in the water. The ride takes place during the time of peak fall colors, so we will ride through several parks going to and from the wetlands, with most of the ride being on greenways or paved multiuse paths. The 7-mile ride starts and ends at the Lents Farmers Market following PBOT's Winter Cycling Workshop being held there. Come early to pick up some farm-fresh produce and visit the PBOT booth providing tips and resources for biking through fall and winter in Portland.

Ride is a loop
End location: Ride is always a loop
Our instagram is nakedHeartspdx so you can see how we ride. Weekly themed rides. Different ride leaders each week, but you can expect the ride to be social paced (8ish mph), no-drop, safe and welcoming, store stop with safe clean bathroom access and the ride is always a loop. We practice consent and non-violence specially with car interactions, what one ride does affects how all rides get treated. The Mellow Mondays are a space for (new) ride leaders to try out ideas in a very supported environment. You’ll often see Mondays rides appearing again during the warmer riding season. We follow the shift code of conduct and expect everyone to be respectful of themselves and others around them. This is so we can actually relax and have fun and connect with each other in a softer space. This isn’t a sober ride but we ask for moderation to keep the atmosphere relaxed. We recommend Abraham Fixes bikes in N Williams and NomadCycles (e-bike specialist) for repairs/sales and parts. Our friends over at RideSafePDX host regular ride and we’ recommend those as a pleasant warm group to ride with.

Most buildings are still there, just now something different. Come ride and listen to his music with us as we remember a Portland music legend. We will be riding in to NW Portland and after we make our way back to the elementary school there will be an optional stop after to go to My Fathers Place for some drinks since he used to hang out there. Please see the regular mellow Monday post for the traditional info about how the ride is organized. And feel free to email us if there is a song you want to make sure you hear!

FKA Twosday Road Rascals but a slightly different approach. Taking back 2sDay is here and we’re closing out Bike Summer with a ride every week! We continue the tradition that started at the picnic tables at Irving park years ago. The torch has been passed and we’re back! We’ll be focusing different end spots plus we’ll have new ride leads popping up thru summer so if you want to lead just ask! Tallbike paced with regroups and a real no drop mentality. Meets at the picnic tables by the tennis courts or under the covered area if it rains. Meet around 7 for a 7:45 roll out! This is a Human powered bike ride! If you gotta box’O’ Lithium on your rig this isn’t the ride for you. If you’re banned from other rides don’t come on this one. Pretty simple. Don’t be rude to others on the ride and traffic or pedestrians, respect people’s space consent and possessions. We strive to make this a safe place for all and welcoming to everyone 🖤🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️✊🏽

Ride with BikeLoud to rally in front of city hall! We're advocating for city council to approve the settlement to Bikeloud's lawsuit, which holds the city responsible for past violations of the Bike Bill. The settlement would change city policies around infrastructure and mandate funding for many infrastructure improvements, including bettering greenways with bike bus routes. This is a moderately paced ride (10 - 12 mph), mostly on greenways, but with some bike lane riding on N Mississipi, across the Broadway Bridge, and downtown. Meet at 8, roll out at 8:15.

Thursday Night Ride
Thu, Oct 23, 2025, 7:00 PM
Meet at 7:00, announcements by 7:30. 🕢 After 7:30, follow us to the next stop.
End location: Not a loop, but usually with a fire.
Thursday Night Ride is Portland’s longest-running weekly social ride, riding every Thursday night since 2015! Routes and ride leaders change weekly, but expect an energetic party-paced “rolling dive bar” of a ride for newcomers and regulars alike. Most rides will feature park and store stops, but come prepared to have fun and celebrate cycling together—other wheeled guests should respect the pace and space of cyclists. New leadership, same positive vibes. While you might expect some wheelies and other chaos, riders are expected to follow Shift’s Code of Conduct, and if you’re banned from any Shift rides, TNR isn’t for you. No complaints, just accountability—if your behavior makes others feel uncomfortable or unsafe, please leave the ride before the ride leaves you. Riders should practice consent, accountability, respect, and de-escalation at all times. Stay behind the ride leader and don’t forget to thank a corker! 📍 Salmon Street Springs, every Thursday, rain or shine. 🕖 Meet at 7:00, announcements by 7:30, leave after “Beer Minutes.” 🕢 If you’re not at the fountain by 7:30, you may want to meet us at the next stop. 🗺️ Live Location: https://ridewithgps.com/users/1303039/live_log ✨Be an Empowered Bystander✨ See something off? Step up in a way that feels right for you: 🗣️ Direct: If it’s safe, say *That's Not Right* for TNR. 🎭 Distract: Change the vibe and give them an out 🙋🏽 Delegate: Get help from a ride leader or trusted friend ⏳ Delay: Check in with the person afterwards 📝 Document: Write down what happened
⛲️ If you have any questions, concerns, or just want to get involved, come early and ask for the ride leader—we’ll see you at the fountain!

Not a ride
Variable, announced every Thursday, TBA
Brian McGloin
Sat, Oct 25, 2025, 9:00 AM

Party Starts at 9, ride at 10am
This will be on high traffic roads. The goal is to bring cyclists together and show our officials across Washington County, including Beaverton, Hillsboro, Tigard, Bethany, and beyond that even though we're in the suburbs, our community is full of cyclists who deserve safe infrastructure too. Our leaders need to work together! We need infrastructure that makes riders and families feel safe—because when people feel safe, more will ride! All people and all wheels are welcome! Always stick to riding in the right lane. ------------- Details to come! ------------- This ride will abide by and follow the Shift Code Of Conduct. We are here to celebrate cycling in the West Suburbs, not to antagonize drivers, however we will be corking our ride to ensure the safety of our riders. What is Critical Mass? A mass bike ride and party-protest in cities all over the world, started 30 years ago in SF! Critical Mass bike rides are not just about cycling, it's about reclaiming public space, celebrating community, and making a statement for sustainable urban living. Streets are not just for cars and large group rides help to assert bicyclists' right to ride in the streets and celebrate the bicycle as a form of transportation. There is strength and safety in numbers What is corking? Corking is when you use your bike & body as a wall to ensure the ride can pass through an intersection safely, to keep the group together. Remember, strength and safety in numbers! This ride may not be suitable for small kids on their own bikes as we may be on busy roads with traffic.

Yeah we know. All the same things you have come to love with our rides. Faster paced, more adventurous, no drop mentality, and all the miles and smiles you can muster! Bring lights, tube repair kit, probably rain gear and fenders if wet, and your P.M.A! Love you and see you there!!

Watch the Thriller zombie dance flash mob!
Kidical Mass PDX
Sat, Oct 25, 2025, 2:00 PM
Meet at 2pm, ride at 2:15pm sharp
3:45 PM
Ride is a loop
Ride bikes with Kidical Mass PDX to see the Thrill the World zombie dance flashmob We’ll ride on neighborhood greenways and side streets in Irvington past houses decorated for halloween. Kids and adults are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes, or decorate bikes! The 19th Annual Thrill the World Portland is part of a worldwide, simultaneous Thriller dance (sung by Michael Jackson). It’s the 19th year of dancing, making Portland’s zombie squad the longest-running Thrill the World event in the solar system! The bike ride to watch the dance is 2 miles each way and a flat 4 mile loop, with the stop in the middle for the dance performance, so its suitable for most young bike riders who can pedal a bike without training wheels. We leave at 2:15pm sharp so we can make it to the performance on time. We ride slow for little pedalers. Kids should wear a helmet, be able to ride in a straight line, start and stop. Cargo bikes, tandems, trailers and tag-a-longs are great for kids who haven’t learned to pedal or get tired soon. We'll ride together as a group, rain or shine, because kids are traffic too! Come ride with us!

**This date is tentative, keep an eye on the Shift Calendar about 1 week out since it will be rescheduled if the weather is rainy, it's a night ride with some busier car-centric roads and we don't want to die.** Now that the nights are getting darker and the sun is setting earlier it can be hard to find the light and joy we find during night time bike rides during the summer. For me, neon signs evoke a combination of nostalgia and futurism and have a great warmth brought into the cold dark of the city night. Join me on a "tour" of some notable neon signs around Portland that glow year round and keep the nights bright. We'll see both large and small signs around North, Northeast and Northwest. Many of these signs are located on car-centric streets like Broadway and Interstate that we don't often think to ride on, let's get out there build community and enjoy the glow! The route is about 23 Miles long and will be generally moderately paced (10 miles per hour) with a no-drop mentality. We will stop around 10 miles into the ride at the plaza west of Hollywood Theater for a store stop at either Trader Joe's or the convenience store. We will finish up on Mississippi Ave around 9:00 and plan to hang out for a while in the area. The ride is a near loop ending 1/4 miles from the start point which is near the TriMet MAX yellow line for folks to get to and from the ride. Instagram: @akc.milian

Calling all Ghouls and Boos! Come on out for a bike ride to visit some pioneer cemeteries. We'll roll out at 11:30am and ride at a 12-14 mph pace (except on hillz). Please stay behind the ride leader. Our 35 mile adventure takes us to 4 pioneer cemeteries (including the one where we meet). If it's a very rainy day, we'll skip one of the cemeteries and make it a 3 cemetery - 20 mile day. We will be stopping only at cemeteries - no stores or restaurants or cafes, so please bring your tricks and treats for the day. Please bring your flat repair kit, including a spare tube (even if you ride tubeless and/or don't know how to repair a flat). I am no expert on cemeteries or pioneers, so don't expect any speeches or wisdom on those topics. It just seemed like a fun time of year to explore a few old cemeteries. Rules (which you agree to follow just by showing up!): * no complaining * do whatever you want * do not sue your ride leader
