Bring your outside coffee brewing kit and greet the dawn of Pedalpalooza Day 1 with a hot beverage. We'll meet at the picnic tables above the tennis courts on the EAST side of Mount Tabor. This is BYOC (bring your own coffee) but if all you have is a cup, someone will likely hook you up. Pastries/donuts also welcome to share & trade.

Two years ago we did the first Bike Shop Ride, paying back to all those that keep us going. This year we're headed North! MASKS ON! Grab your lunch, pull up a chair, and spend an hour on this first day of Pedalpalooza and Move More Challenge learning the ins and outs of using your bike for transportation! The Street Trust's one-hour clinic covers laws, skills, basic gear, and basic maintenance. This is a great introductory class for people who are new to bicycling or interested in learning more about how to enjoy safe and comfortable bike commuting in all seasons. Experienced commuters are encouraged to come and share their tips with fellow riders and hopefully walk away with new knowledge as well. Topics covered at the include: * Basics of riding – laws, traffic signals and signs, how to handle bike lanes, bike boxes, tracks, and sidewalks * Skills – hand signals, turning, sharing the lane, and changing lanes * Choosing gear – bikes, helmets, lights, locks, accessories, cold and rain gear, carrying kids and cargo * Route planning – resources and taking bicycles on transit * E-bikes & Scooters – interacting safely with all road users * Q&A – answers to questions from new or experienced riders Does this time not work for you? Every Wednesday (weather permitting) we bomb Mt Tabor on skates - all skates welcome (roller skate/blade, long/skateboard, scooter) Meet at the benches at the top at 11, first bomb by 11:15 RIDE AT YOUR OWN RISK - Mt Tabor is a great place to develop downhill skills of most levels, but it can be overwhelming for beginning riders. Depending on setups, riders can very easily exceed 20MPH, and in some cases even above 30MPH on this hill. A fun casual ride around Beaverton and the surrounding area. We meet across the street from the Beaverton Transit Center to allow cyclists from Portland easy access to see the beauty of the west side. There is a fee to use the MAX line (No more than $5). The ride is free and is a safe space. The pace will be casual and inclusive. Hope to be back in the area of Beaverton Transit Center in time for folks to make the last MAX into Portland.

Let's attach tiny horses to horse rings! I'm not an expert at tiny horses in the slightest, but on this ride I would like to attach a bunch of tiny horses to Portland's horse rings. Ride gathers at 3pm at the SW Salmon ST Fountain near the west end of the Hawthorne Bridge, and leaves at 3:30. We will return to the fountain by 7pm. This is a no drop ride. Obviously if you have to leave that's fine, but we will make additional stops if someone gets a flat tire, etc. If you do leave early please try to tell someone that you're leaving so we don't wonder if we lost someone. If you have tiny horses or other animals toys you want to attach or you have supplies to attach them, like pliers, wires, cables, and crimps please bring them. I'll bring a few horses and some metal coat hangers and pliers for attaching, but may not have enough for every rider. Feel free to also dress up yourself or you bike as a horse or even a unicorn for extra fun! Wear a mask please! Please do not ride a horse! The Flanders Greenway in NW Portland is finally going to be connected on Friday, June 4. Join us for a ride from the Waterfront Park to the Flanders Bridge for the ribbon-cutting event being hosted by the city. (And don’t forget the Ned Flanders ride to celebrate the Flanders bridge on June 9 at 5:30 pm; no doubt there will be much bikefun to be had.)

Discover Portland’s newest bridge, Flanders Crossing. Riders will see the newly completed NW Flanders Neighborhood Greenway and have a chance to be among the first people to travel on the newly opened bicycle/pedestrian bridge. We'll see a few other Neighborhood Greenways in NW Portland that have been recently improved. This event will also kick off Go By Greenways: NW Gems, a treasure hunt to show off great places that can be reached using NW Portland’s network of bikeways - and win Fabulous Prizes. Join us for our monthly ride where we will be riding at a slower pace and mostly flat surfaces. Meet at Salmon street fountain in downtown Portland (Sw Salmon st/Natio pkwy) Route is between 5-8 miles long with a couple park stops and ending at a food cart pod. We ride as fast as the slowest person on the ride and no one gets dropped within reason. Ride leader and all club members are fully vaccinated, but we ask that you wear a mask while not riding and keep your distance of at least 6 feet. We will be periodically stopping to talk about disability issues and taking suggestions on inspirational quotes to put on our Notes of Hope that we put on the area bridges each month.

Ride from Fernhill Park to Piccolo Park on the 40's greenway. This is the second half of a greenways loop ride that leaves Piccolo Park at 10am.

Love riding over our beautiful city bridges and waterfront? This ride will be looping around the waterfront and crossing a few bridges in between. Starting at Steele and turning back at the new gorgeous Tilikum crossing. We will take a break on the Tilikum bridge where there are plaques about all the bridges in Portland that you can see from the bridge! Showers likely around 2pm today so ride planning to end around 130 :).

Do you get lost easily on Mt Tabor? This ride will show you all the cycling ways up and down the mountain. That means we'll ride to the top three times! (Bring strong legs.) Along the way, the leader will help you figure out the various roads so you don't get lost in the future.

The category is... Biking! We will ride an easy 2 miles to the Clinton Street Theater for a 7:30PM screening of the infamous 1990 documentary "Paris is Burning" which focuses on drag queens, femmes, and trans women of color living in New York City during the height of the AIDS Crisis and their "house" ballroom culture, which provides a sense of community and support for the flamboyant and often socially shunned performers. Groups from each house compete in elaborate balls that take cues from the world of fashion. Also touching on issues of racism and poverty, the film features interviews with a number of renowned drag queens, including Willi Ninja, Pepper LaBeija and Dorian Corey. This film is A MUST-WATCH for anyone that's into voguing, queer and trans history, Rupaul's Drag Race (actually know where much of drag/ballroom culture comes from before it was "made for TV"), or amazing DIY fashion. Wear your ballroom BEST and bring a mask for the theatre! The screening is free but there is a suggested $6 donation for Black & Pink, a prison abolitionist organization dedicated to abolishing the criminal punishment system and liberating LGBTQIA2S+ people and people living with HIV/AIDS who are affected by that system through advocacy, support, and organizing. Dress up in your best Ned Flanders costume (or other Simpsons-related outfit) and check out Portland's newest car-free bridge, the stupid sexy (Ned) Flanders Crossing! In 2015, we led a Flanders-themed Pedalpalooza ride to rally support for this bridge, and now it's finally here, so we figured it's time for a celebration ride. We'll ride the new Flanders neighborhood greenway end-to-end, including the new bridge, and will also check out the newly-improved Johnson and Marshall neighborhood greenways nearby. We'll stop at the new bridge and a few other locations to talk about recent and upcoming improvements and how they happened, and bask in the glory of traffic-free and traffic-light streets. Ride meet-up is at the Japanese American Historical Plaza in Waterfront Park near NW Naito Pkwy & Couch St. Meet at 5:30pm, ride at 6:00pm. After riding Flanders, Johnson, and Marshall, we'll ride up to Mayor Quimby's favorite drinking establishment, the Lucky Lab Beer Hall on Quimby Street, for some post-ride beverages.

From there we have the option to ride across the Tilikum and up the waterfront to meet with the Light Brigade Ride, so light up if you got em! Back for its 10th +1 year Anniversary Get Lost! is a Pedalpalooza Bike Ride led entirely by chance. Dice are rolled to determine how many blocks to ride, and which direction to turn once we get there (odd total = R, even =L). We ride until we find a natural end point. Established in 2017, we ride once a month to enjoy what this city has to offer. Each month is led by a different CORVIDAE member, and therefore will be unique. We occasionally have themes or additional donations to different organizations. Additionally, host pop-up rides during the summer. ​We try to focus our rides on greenways, group etiquette, safety measures and general comradery. In addition to bike safety and accessibility, we want to promote using bicycles as an alternative to fossil fueled travel within Portland. Ile is going back to La Gran Tenochtitlán and saying "good-bye" to Portland. She is such a fun, grateful, wonderful human. Every Wednesday (weather permitting) we bomb Mt Tabor on skates - all skates welcome (roller skate/blade, long/skateboard, scooter) Meet at the benches at the top at 11, first bomb by 11:15 RIDE AT YOUR OWN RISK - Mt Tabor is a great place to develop downhill skills of most levels, but it can be overwhelming for beginning riders. Depending on setups, riders can very easily exceed 20MPH, and in some cases even above 30MPH on this hill. A ramble through SE restocking the little free pantries and fridges. We will be able to pick up food at some pantries that have overstock (we've arranged this already with the people running these pantries) and distributing it to other sites so everyone is welcome whether you want to bring your own donations, help cargo stuff around, familiarize with this resource, or just go on a fun bike route. If you'd like to contribute additional items, bring unexpired food, hygiene items, or pet food. We'll be going to 6 pantries (2 with fridges) as well as some surprises (Cool murals! Robots!). Around 5.5 miles on really flat roads. Not a loop (ending at Lents Park) but ride leaders can ride with anyone who needs helping getting back to Kern Park. This group bike ride is not to a sock hop but rather to The HOP - a new neighborhood greenway in NE Portland. This greenway goes East-West through the Gateway area, and looking at a map does appear to hop owing to several short North-South turns needed to navigate the streets. But HOP really refers to the Holiday-Oregon-Pacific streets that comprise the route. This 7.5 mile loop ride includes not just the HOP, but also portions of the new 130s Bikeway and the future 100s Bikeway. The route also passes through five city parks including the new Gateway Discovery Park.

A fun casual ride around Beaverton and the surrounding area. We meet across the street from the Beaverton Transit Center to allow cyclists from Portland easy access to see the beauty of the west side. There is a fee to use the MAX line (No more than $5). The ride is free and is a safe space. The pace will be casual and inclusive. Hope to be back in the area of Beaverton Transit Center in time for folks to make the last MAX into Portland.

The way it works is you stop by (or wait for your turn if there are a lot of people) and I direct you for a few poses with your bike both while moving and stationary. Ideally we spend 5m-7m per person, but if there are many people I may shorten the sessions. I can probably take a max of 15 -18 total sessions from about 8p to 9:30p. Feel free to leave when you are done or stick around, its entirely up to you! This is weather dependent. Starting at Garden Home Rec Center we will ride the entire length of the Fanno Creek Trail (9 miles ONE WAY) ending at the Tigard Library. An additional quarter mile on the Colony Creek Trail will be explored at the end for those who want to go "all the way." This is a one way ride. You can catch a bus back to start point from nearby Tigard Transit Center (Route 45) or ride back to start point on your own (additional 9 miles) Our 5 year old can ride this route one way. ( Strong rider) We will be riding in the street with sharrows for one segment. Multiple street crossings, one bridge over 217 using sidewalk. Downhill at the start, one uphill section but mostly flat paved trail. Easy pace. Bathroom/playground break at Dirksen nature park.
